  1. Get the car in 4th gear- say 60 MPH or so and floor it. RPM's will shoot up then drop most likely will rev well above 3K RPM's. I find that when clutch first going it is easier to detect in a higher gear than in say 2nd.
  2. Has anyone run EBC "Yellow Stuff" pads. I have heard some good things from drivers of other fine German cars (BMW), but no Boxster or Porsche drivers. Looking for any info. Thanks
  3. Will the P275 40 17's fit the rear of a 98 Boxster without adding spacers?
  4. I am changing my water pump and found that the recommended coolant sold by Porsche is 60/gallon and I need 2 gallons. What makes this coolant so special? Any other coolant that I can use instead of the Porsche stuff?
  5. Having an issue where power to the engine cuts out suddenly, kicks on the CEL for about 1 second, then power comes back and CEL shuts off. Checked for codes non existing or pending. This can happen at highway speeds or stoped at a light. Only thing done to car is K&N filter about 5000 miles ago. Any thoughts? 98 with 113K
  6. I plan on doing them all myself. When I bought the vehicle used, brought it in for inspection and told them to also change the oil. My mouth dropped when I got the $189 oil change bill! I realize there is a lot of oil in this car but...
  7. Called Porsche dealer in Southern NH & one in Mass, neither one carries these wrenches. Now that I know the size should be able to get at any autoparts store.
  8. I've been looking for the filter wrench as I am due for Oil change, called local dealer, he told me they dont carry oil filter wrenches, even after I gave him the number. Told me the techs just get them off the tool truck. Sounds weird to me! Where do you get the OEM wrench?
  9. Thanks guys, the jack I have now was bought to fit my SUV many years ago. I agree, any excuse for a new tool!
  10. Went to change my oil last night- jack didn't fit under the car. As I am now out of town for a few days and can't measure the clearance, was wondering if anybody knew how low I need the jack to be?
