  1. Hi All, have the exact same car 04 911T convertible with same tires. I previously had the Continental tire which I've worn out the rear tires completely in just 7000 miles doing strickly highway. For the same price 660$ minus 60$ mail-in rebate, got 4 hankook v12 (Front and rear) and I love them. I was bit concerned at the begining looking at the tread pattern, thinking they would be noisy. I am very impressed, they are very quiet on the Highway even at High speed 140+, great cornering traction too. Definitely will buy again. The thing that work for me is the fact that our car have very agressive camber in the front wearing tire very unvevently from the inside. At least with these tires since they are not asymetric, you can actually do a front rotation every 3-4K mile and wear them evenly. When I swapped my continentals in the front, they still had plenty of tread left on the outside but the inside was completely worn out. For the purpose of me doing strickly highway driving, these tires are very good.
  2. I am using the Switched Green/Brown wire from the tel. connection. I found the problem and fixed the issue. I had my car's red wire, which is Constant 12V, hooked to the AVIC's red wire (Switched power). The Avic's Z110BT constant wire is yellow not red. So you need to hook the AVIC's yellow wire with the car's RED wire and the AVIC's red wire with the green/brown wire fron the Tel. connector. Everything works perfectly know. Thanks
  3. When I go to the GPS Status I do see Speed Pulse (Counts) large number. GPS ANT shows OK, Parking Brake shows ON, Illumination OFF and Back Signal Low. When I actual arrived to my destination it did say "You arrived at your destination", so I'm a bit confused as to why it's wasn't able to detect movement while I was driving but was able to tell me that I arrived at destination!
  4. Over the weekend I installed an AVIC Z110BT (Which I later flashed to AVIC Z120BT) on my 04 911T following the DYI found on this site. There was a mention in it to swap the red (+12V) and yellow (ACC) in order for the unit to work properly. My Car's "B" harness doesn't have a yellow (ACC) wire. I had the PCM unit with Fiber Optic amp before. I did a search and found an article on where to use a different source for the Switched power (Yellow) using the Tel. option Connector. I connected my AVIC's yellow wire to the switched power of the tel Option Connector and connected the Avic's Red wire with the car's red wire. The head unit power up OK and turn on when I switch the key to the ACC position telling me that everything is fine. The problem I have is that the head unit doesn't retain any AV settings (Ie: HPF, EQ, BSM Station saves etcc...). Everytime I remove the key and power the unit back up I have to re-adjust all settings over again like if the red (Constant 12V) doesn't seems to remain ON. Can someone confirm that the RED Wire on 04 911T remains ON all the time?. Other problem I have is with the GPS. I did the GPS bypass (Moving the pin on the AVIC Connector one position and grounding it.) When I go to the NAvi Settings, Connection Status and look for the Parking Brake, it's says ON. Shouldn't this be saying OFF if I grounded the pin?. While driving the GPS unit doesn't doesn't seems to know that I'm moving. Reason I'm saying this is that I did enter a destination route, it's said calculating but was very quiet during the course of my drive. I knew where I was going, I just wanted to see when it would warn me take a left or take a right here etc... it never did. When I pressed on the route I was on on the screen showing how many miles to next turn, it said 40 Miles to next turn eventough it was showing 20 mile to next turn. A few minutes later around 10 miles before next turn, when I pressed again it again said 40 mile to next turn!!!, letting me believe that unit thinks I'm not moving. So should the Parking Status be saying OFF all the time if it is grounded?. If that's the case, then that pin that I moved one slot to the right on the AVIC connector isn't grounded very well!!.
  5. Hi guys, fixed the issue over the weekend!. I did verify all fuses, none of them were blown. I had to connect and disconnect the 3 colored connectors several time and finally everything came back OK. All error codes went away. Probably a loose connection. Thanks all for your help.
  6. Thanks, I will do that and see what happends. I should see the result when I get back home, I forgot to mention that the battery also died on me after an hour or so playing with audio adjustment after radio and after market amp where installed. I've used the battery quite a lot (this car was modded to have running lights on during daytime) so Headlight where ON for quite a while and drainned the battery). I've hooked the Trickle charger before leaving for a business trip 2 days ago. Hopefully everything will be OK when I get back!. Thanks for your input
  7. Hi Everyone. I'm looking in getting the wiring diagram for an 04 911T convertible Gauge cluster. I did visit Porsche's PIWIS TSI web site but info is not there. Only search result that came back was from the WM (workshop manual) section an appendix which list pages 1-30 with no possible link to any of them. I'm looking in identifying which signals are tied to the three colored connectors.(Blue,Grey and Green). I'm experiencing problem with Fuel,Temp and Pressure indication(Both Red light are on for the Temp and Gas eventough needle indicate 100 Degree F and fuel empty, I know that fuel indication can be wrong if less then 1/4 gas tank, which is the case, read several posts about this issue). Where I'm concern is the fact that the OBD tell me that I have a deffective Fuel sender and needs to be serviced at a Porsche Dealer, not that fuel level is low. I also get an "add windshield washer fluid" warning eventought it's full. OBD keeps cycling between these two error code constantly and I can't clear them by pressing OK. I can't access any other feature of OBD. I also lost illumination of all 6 switches around the radio, and to top it all off, I can no longer operate the convertible top. It is now open and I can't close it. (Good news is that it's in a garage!) What brought me there is that I had to disconnect the cluster in order to install a BT microphone for the AVIC Z120BT radio. I did reconnect the 3 color coded connector back in place and double checked them without any luck. I do have wiring diagram for a 996 Carrera model 99/00 and according to it most of my symptoms are related to the Plug 1 (Blue) except for the convertible top control which mentions Plug 2 (White). This diagram mentions Plug color Black,White and Blue, I have Blue,Grey and Green. Can anyone tell me if I can rely on this diagram or not?. Any suggestion would also be greatly appreciated
