  1. I drive an hour from my home and have "The Tint Guy" 740 877 2307. He's done 2 Porsche 911's for me. Plus all my personal cars. He use to work for 3M and teach people how to install window tint and clear bra's. He does a great job and I highly recommend driving the extra mile and let him do your Porsche!! Picture of my ride the day I picked her up!! LOVE THE CAR!!
  2. We use nitrogen in our aircraft wheels. It's the moisture issue. E
  3. Wish it was that simple. Not just high RPM's on a cold engine. That's the worst part. Go get Porsche 996 the essential companion!! This guy looks into the engine failure problem. The best thing you can do is run it like you stole it. Let the engine come up to temp and keep the engine in the high rev 4000+. Don't baby the engine. E
  4. Totally normal. This is one of the first signs you need to pick up a battery NOW! The battery just doesn't have the cranking AMPs to start the car. E
  5. I stick a very soft foam block so the hood will not close completely. Zero chance of damage. I have a maintainer clamped to the battery and the maintainer flashes different colors so I know of any problems. I like the going out the top but I don't like the idea of wires chaffing the side of my ride. NO ONE IS ALLOWED NEAR THE CAR! It sits in the 3rd bay. E
  6. That's the incorrect part. That's the ring around the headlight. The washer head is $50. Thanks anyway E :notworthy:
  7. Thanks guys! 2003 C2. Right side is missing. Thanks loren. I looked it up on sunset, it was $50. Can I just buy the cap? E
  8. Looks like I lost the silver peice where my headlight washer pops up. How do I fix it?? Looking at the parts info on line do I have to order the complete assy? How do you change it out? Thanks E
  9. It's the coolant level. Shouldn't be low, it's a closed loop. You can do a search on oil and draw your only conclusion. Learn how to check the oil and keep it full. Just try to keep the oil level up. Don't go 15000 mile between changes. The site here may have your manual for down load. Drive it like you stole it. E :clapping: You have a Carrera, Cab refers to the convertible. If you know for sure you have mobil 1 you can mix the oils. I'd go get an oil change. 0W40 has a wide temp range. I'd go Mobil 1 5W50 with 100,000 miles on the engine. Keep an eye on it. E
  10. I'd pull the car fax and or talk to the dealership who did the service. I paid $150 last summer for PPI. If you check compressin then add another $200 to $300. The burnt orange would take a long time... Not a good color and I'd use that in my favor if I were to make an offer. Also it's late in the year and that car will need be stored very shortly!! SNOW! It's going to be hard to move that color for top dollar. There is a 2004 996 turbo out here in Oh at www.autoassets.com and it's had $15000 in engine mods. Very clean! E
  11. I need to find someone in Ohio to do the work. Love to run the car to Jake right now but winter is going to hit. Anybody out there know of someone in Ohio? Thanks EH
  12. Jake has a good video of an engine that has "issues" on his website!! Go to flatsix and spend sometime there and I'll bet you'll find what your looking for. I have to ask. Did you baby the engine. After talking to Jake and reading the material he leans towards if you baby the engine and run to tall a gear you stress the bearing and the variocam. How long between oil changes?? I've been changing every ~4000 miles or less so I can check the oil samples. Are you the first owner? Thanks for the information. E :o
  13. Talk to Jake, at low RPM's their is a load on the bearing. At high RPM almost no load at all. So run the car RPM's in the mid to upper limits. The factory bearing is at design limits around 90 miles. The newer bearing made by Timken will last forever. Go to Flatsix website if you want the complete info. :clapping: My 911 will get the mod this spring. E
  14. Do some searches and you'll find some info. I know I've seen it somewhere on this board. E
  15. Let me guess you're running 0w-40? If so it's normal. Do a search on the topic oil press and oil press sensor. E
  16. Buy the newest car with the lowest miles you can get! Look at the history. I'd never buy a Porsche that has been through 1 or more auction houses. You'll find that info on the carfax. Clean well maintained Porsches never make auction they get sold! Just my take. E
