  2. Hello to all, I received my durametric yesterday and once everyone went to sleep I finally ran down to the garage to try her out. I have a 06 CTTS I recently picked up. I don’t have much mileage left until the warranty ends. So I am trying to get the car all worked over. I had it at the dealer twice already and many things were fixed and/or replaced. The car is almost done, its going back to get a few other parts replaced once they arrive at the P-dealer. So I was very excited too pick up a durametric to check up on things. Now I am not saying I am not happy with the dealer and personally (so far) feel they are doing great but not finished. What troubles me is that I saw 4 faults (various) and none of them were mentioned to me nor fixed... I was not able to print them out via the software, but it was very late and will get them over the weekend (as well as figure out why it would not print them out). One of the faults that trouble’s me is the something I pointed out to the dealer: the 2 warning symbols that were showing up in the PCM (Trip + Main). Few things were working weird with it as well. But I noticed that in was not at the latest S/W version (Its a 2.1 PCM Hardware). So I paid them the $300 bucks to get it to 3.1 which I was told is the latest for the cayenne, even thought under Cayenne TSB's on this site it shows 4.1 is the latest, they stated not for the cayenne. No problem now that it is the “latest” S/W version everything should be good right? The two warning symbols were still showing up (CD Changer and Sirius Radio, both work as far as I can tell) and one of the faults the durametric shows is a P code with “PCM2”... So not sure how to take this??? I did my part, did they not? The car had the coils and plugs changed as it had a very bad shake at idle and the dealer found 3 Faults "miss fires". This was all cleared after all the work the car has been threw in 2 visits. So How should I take it that clearly after the ECU was cleared of all faults it still (they come back) shows 4 faults, but was not mentioned to me by the dealer? Is it Ok to mention to the dealer when I go back (scheduled) that I found these faults? Or do dealers frown on us plugging into the car? And can I state I don’t want the car back until it repaired?, faultless :)
  3. That is the part number on the paperwork from my P-Dealer who replaced the parts, and mine is a 2006, may have to dig deeper... to find out whats going on.
  4. FYI, My dealer just changed mine, seems a newer part number has come out: 955.512.550.04 (and 955-512-528-00 for the rear window damper)
  5. I am looking at that same front valance, and debating if I should go with a Porsche TechnoSport Side skirts or TechArts. Techarts price on the side skirts is out of control... (P = $980+, TA = $2000+)
  6. Very Interesting, never knew cars had 4 oxygen sensors. Loren, question is the part number #9 & #10 (down pipes of the turbo's - 1st Cats) different for the regular 06 CTT versus the 06 CTTS or are they the same. If they are different then I would have to guess they are larger diameter on the CTTS, otherwise the same.

  8. Hey Loren, Would you be able to look up the diameter (spec) of the stock down pipe on the '06 CTTS (2.75"?) Also would you have a diagram of the exhaust system end to end (I would like to see how many individual pieces and gaskets, etc...) on this model.
  9. You bet, I just had my '06 CTTS done. It was shaking, no check engine light. 3 Fault codes were found at the dealer, they changed the Coils (P/N# -05) lastest one from what I understand (warrentied), and changed plugs as well (paid them for the plugs, what can you do....). Its a completely different car now.
  10. Very good to know Loren, many thanks. Once my durametric comes in, will I see the IPAS code labeled as such ("IPAS")? This way I make sure I do not hand that over to anyone. I am guessing the software will show the ECU # which I hope is not the IPAS code you meantion and is what they need...?
  11. Ok, so that all makes sense then. I am at a bit of a lose as to what they want (they state ECU #). The Dealer is working on the car still, and they gave me the Serial # and Sfotware # and GIAC said "no" neither of those... I wonder once i pick up my durametric if that will show the "ecu #" there are referring too?
  12. Strange, I understand what you are saying Loren but then I have to ask, the ECU is programmed the same for a Turbo or Turbo S, I would have to say no. Or is this just the part (ecu) and then a dealer/porcshe would have to program it to the model it will be used in/for. If so I guess that is what they are requesting...?
  13. Not at all Loren, GIAC and one other vendor are requesting my ECU part number to know what they offer for (my car) ECU remapping.
  14. Hey Loren, Would you be able to look up the Part # for for my 2006 Cayenne Turbo S "ECU", or do you need my VIN# because there are more than one?
  15. OH, ****. I thought I read in another post, that front cover (that mathces the interior color) comes off?

Thanks guys, too funny, my dads into construction all his life and frieghtharbor his exactly where he get tools from, just never occur to me for cars :unsure: I would like to make it clear though ( :rolleyes: ) i dont have to left feet and have worked on cars back in my teens... LOL But now that I picked up my P-Car its time for a great hobby. I have the basic's: pliers, screw drivers, metric (some, but definitly not 5.5mm) and more hammers than I know what to do with (big sledge hammer's too :) ), my favor is a crow bar about the size of half the cayenne :P Working on picking up the durametric as well. What size robo grips? any more suggestions out there, trim pullers, exhaust tools... Thanks again guys & gals P.S. there is someone who post a pic of his garage with 2 white P-cars and he has a lift in his home garage, I am very jealous personally :) BTW, I will be replacing the steering wheel, in another post someone meantioned " You need a "XZN" or "triple square" socket wrench to remove the wheel bolt. These look like the Torx wrench but with more tines(12)" Anyone know exactly what type of socket this is? Definitly need this socket.
  18. I have to apologize again Loren I didnt see/pay attention to the post date, and could not agree more. The reason i ask was it kept coming up as $347. I went around a different avenue on theyre site and found the standard version finally, that is $287. I perfer to purchase from them... Thanks again! Last question, will this clear airbag lights on a cayenne, has anyone try'ed?

  20. Any recommend place (internet site) where to purchase a Durametric for a 06 cayenne, I do not require a professional version. My understanding is with the standard its up to 3 Vehicles (VINs) and no round interface which I do not need becuase it will be for my cayenne, correct?
  21. Hello to all, I am looking to purchase some tools to get started on the 06 cayenne tts I picked up. I would love to here recommendation from you all on where you have picked up your tools and what kind and from where. Example Torx 20, etc. I will be starting with stuff like carbon filter replacement, air filters, engine covers, side lights, airbags, interior parts, brakes, etc... there is no such thing as to much info for me :D
  22. Thanks 911perv, so you mean cut the original pin (which is different) as well as cut the pin on the aftermarket. Put the aftermarket one on and then do something like epoxy the original pin to the aftermarket? Does anyone know a web link, diagram, etc.. that shows how a cayenne airbag deploy's? Like the top folds down or spilts in the middle (i doubt it though), or the bottom folds up, etc... Does anyone have instruction (perferable with picture) of how to remove the cayenne airbag. I want to see whats going on in the back of that original crest to make my final decision, and would gladly take pictures to publish here for everyones future referrence to understand the deal with the original crest. magcuda, I appreciate your FYI.

  24. Sorry dont know the answer to your question, but I have one for you, what manufacturer did you go with for your bypass pipes? What difference did you notice (sound, performance)? I just picked up a 06 tts myself, very interested.
