  1. Hello, JFP do you mean that i should have changed the clutch oil instead or both at this visit at OPC ?
  2. Hello, JFP thanks but i figure that the Clutch fluid will be 5 years and approx 40 K miles at the major service next year so it should be well inside the limits set by factory intervall. I wanted gear oil changed because of all the mechanical gears and bearing material from the break in of parts in the gearbox.
  3. Hello, I only wanted the Gearbox oil to be changed this time and i would say it took 1 hour approx totally with them driving in and out from the workshop. I cant say i notice any difference in performance, it is more "a piece of mind" thing i would say. The mechanic said the fluid looked nice and Clean and didnt not smell burnt or anything, i did not Watch all the time but went in the work shop to have a look underneath the car and if i am changing the gear oil again i Think i will do it myself. The PDK Clutch fluid i will change next year when the car is going in for a major service.
  4. I have had the car since new and put all the mileage on it, I noticed a whistling sound when Engine was warm maybe a month ago and have read som other threads regarding this (rennlist) and Porsche listened today and they also Think it is the waterpump. Does not seem very common on this new Engine. It does not leak any fluid so thats good.
  5. Thank you ! Off topic maybe (sorry) but my 3.8S DFI is today diagnosed with a sounding waterpump so i am going to change that. it lasted 20 000 miles approx.
  6. I am also curios if this oil level sender also reads the oil temperature ? (948 606 150 00) Thanks
  7. I Think the Oil level sensor is under neath on this new 3.8 DFI Engine. It is on my Engine at least. Maybe i am wrong.
  8. Yes it looks like it, only need to remove the first plastic underbody panel. The drain and fill plugs did not have crush washers but a small rubber seal instead.
  9. I got my PDK gearbox oil changed a couple of Days ago at my OPC dealer. no Pictures though but looked very straight forward when i looked underneath my car. Mobil PTX 75W/90 Oil (also factory fill)
  10. Thanks JFP, Ok,i was not aware that both of the fluids needed to be controlled to get the correct fluid levels inside the box. It doesent sound to me that is a risk i am willing to take and mess upp things...which will end up costing me $$$.
  11. Thanks JFP, I have a 997 S / PDK and think it to long for first oil change with 12 years / 120 K miles. I have seen that procedure in the 2009 Technik Service information book, Is PIWIS needed for the (PTX) gear oil change also, Shouldn´t that be more or less a drain and refill procedure ? I can have it done att dealer but qurios if it would be possible to change out just the gearoil easily.
  12. Hello, I had that problem on my Boxster 2008 (CDr 24) and i tried to remove the fuse and that helped for a while. But a Porsche tech told me to remove the Minus battery cabel and leave it off for ten minutes end then put ut back on the battery... and i have never had the radio problem since Best Regards,
  13. Hello, Can i ask you what gearoil you are going to use ? And is the 6 speed gearbox the "same" for a boxster 2008 Model and also with the same Oil Specification ? / Best Regards
  14. Hello, How much Coolant is there to fill between the min and max mark ? Best Regards ! Happy new Year !
  15. That is a warranty fix. There is an adjustment that can be made without removing the door panel. It involves accessing the torx screw that acts on the clamp supporting the window glass, one if front, one at the rear. The access is from underneath the door, by removing two of the four rubber plugs that you will find under there. Do a search here for a post that shows the arrangement of the plugs and which ones to remove, with photos, etc... Regards, Maurice. Ok,Thank you very much that was a very quick and good answer ! I will take it to the dealer while it´s under warranty, this is a problem they should fix pretty easy then dont you think... Is there any good advise regarding the lubricating / maintanance of the mechanical movemenst of the top ? Or vill the every other year service at the porsche dealer take care of it ? I am taking very godd care of the car in regards to the paintwork and the oil filter stuff.. Thanks / Best Regards
  16. Hello ! I have a Boxster S 08´ I have recentley noticed an issue with the driverside window not sealing corrcetly against the seal with window and top Closed...there is obviusly wind coming from there while driving the car at normal speeds. I assume that this is adjustable ? Is there anyone here that have this issue and maybe a´ DIY solution ? I suppose this is a warranty fix ? Thank´s / Best Regards !
