  1. No Luck with connectors :( Any other ideas? I can't get codes unless I go to dealer..If I go to dealer. well they might as well fix it!
  2. Fuses checked, at local mechanic this morning to clean and inspect the electrical connections on the transmission. What do the electromagnets 955.624.170.00 do? They are in the shifter mechanism..just an uneducated stab in the dark if they would cause such a prob. But I'm sure its a short as the lights in the selector are doing funky things: 1. There are no lights on to show what gear you are in, unless you turn the headlights on, at which time the gear is light up, as well as the D light (faint) 2. I can still operate the low range selectror 3. Cannot get the key out , says "put selector in park". If i turn on and off real quick, I can get it to release if I pull on the key as I do this. 4. The steering wheel lock is not engaged. When I put my key in, I get no "Clicking" of the interlock mechanisms, and, on getting the key out the lock out mechanisms do not engage 5. Tiptronic works on the steering wheel, but not on the shifter. Shifting it over to M, lights up the M light quickly then goes out, and D stays lit up. The Manual shifting does not work at all
  3. Its odd. Only D is light up constantly, not all of them. Can I get to these connections on the transmission without a hoist, crawling under the vehicle? I took apart the gear selector and all looked good in there including connections and magnets
  4. Can you get to this connector without a hoist, just under the vehicle? I'm having a shorting problem that I'm trying to troubleshoot. Won't let me shift with the shifter in manual mode, key gets stuck, D light always lit up.
  5. Pulled out the plastics and magnets were intact. Turning the lights on shows that the D is always light up, regardless of position. Seems like a short somewhere..but where! Any ideas? I read about a plug on the transmission that could short out and all lights light up..Think its that? and I can get to it without a hoist and slide under the vehicle and check it out. PLEASE HELP!
  6. I'm having similar problems. I was tipped off when I couldn't get my key out of the ignition. After I turned off my lights the key came out. I then noticed that with the lights off, I could see the "D" light still faintly on. I can't switch the shifter into manual mode, but the steering wheel controls work. The lights at the shifter are doing some wonky shorting out kind of thing. Before I tear it apart is this the same issue as stated above?
  7. the aiming procedure I understand..but between the 2 assemblies the range of motion is completely different. I have to be at full up on one and full down on the other and they just barely are level with each other. Then at startup when they cycle the autoleveling procudure, they cycle at different levels. The original headlight assembly was not like this. This is why I am making the assumption that the autolevelling needs to be reset and the levels re adjusted to match. Does anyone know if this is correct, or if there is a reset procedure for the autolevelling?
  8. Looking for the procedure to aim xenons on a 04 Cayenne S. Had to replace the LH lamp assembly due to a broken lens. Now the auto height adjust initialization at start up does not run in sync with the RH side, and the range of adjustment is totally off from the RH. If the RH is all the way down, and the LH is all the way up, they still are not completely level.. Wondering if there is a Macro setting or if the auto level needs to be reset/re calibrated somehow Thanks
  9. just to confirm, by catcher do you mean the mechanism on the lid, or the body?
  10. Oncoming car smoked a deer and it flew into my wheel well and tore up the plastics. Looking for a source for salvage or used wheel well plastics and mudflap for rear driverside wheel well. Otherwise not a scratch, just alot of fur and guts. Its for a 2004 Cayenne S
  11. Just a thought, but I had my Cardon shaft replace 3 weeks ago. Would there be any affliation to the problem, perhaps with suspension components that would have been removed for installation of the shaft? The more I try to duplicate the issue, the more I am pointing a finger to the rear suspension. The vehicle will suddenly sway when banked over in a good offramp sweeper. Rear sway bar perhaps? Jeff
  12. While I don't disagree, I've got 10,000km on that set up with great handling, yet recently it started doing this odd behaviour. The tires could be crap and are now losing traction, however, they have good tread and roads were dry.
  13. Yes, Understeer, but it happens quickly, like low tire pressure, but the pressures are correct.
  14. I have a 2004 Cayenne S. No air suspension. I'm finding the vehicle recently somewhat unstable. Under normal driving conditions the vehicle appears to drive normally, however, when driving aggressively, on higher speed sweepers and tight corners/swtichbacks, the front end will all of a sudden wash out. Like I hit Ice or something. Tires are Pirelli Scorpion snow and ice, roads are clear of snow now, with a little bit of sand in some spots. Any ideas? It's really odd.
