  1. I would recommend sticking with the Pilots... I've had Bridgestones, Continentals, Pirellis, and Pilots on my M3 (my car before the C2S) and I liked the Pilots the best. Check out The Tire Rack, www.tirerack.com for reviews and feedback. I have already had to replace my rears because I wore them down to the nylon in 8,000km (5,000 miles) and I developed a bubble in one of the fronts... Really sucked that I had to change 4 tires in one year. But I was still able to do the whole thing for about $1,000.00
  2. Does anyone know if there is a way to wire in a iPod into the 997s stereo?
  3. I have a C2S and love the feel of it... The 4wd system isn't for snow conditions anyway. I've never had a traction issue with my 911.
  4. 6 foot 1 inch, 180 pounds... I have a C2S with adaptives and love them. So many different adjustments, you're bound to find the perfect position...
  5. ...I've done the same thing... With golf clubs, I think. In my case I think it would have to be sanded and touched up with some matching paint... They scratch WAY too easily, I'm probably going to live with it. I'd hate to keep fixing it.
  6. When I bought my C2S I was offered a 996 (C4S) for substantially less since it was the end of their run... Don't get me wrong, the 996 was a nice car, but the interior just flows better in the 997. ...if you find the wheel looks cheap, you could always order another...
  7. I'm not sure if it's because I'm still pretty young, but I would never consider an automatic Porsche. One of the more satisfying parts of driving my CS2 is tapping the clutch in and throwing around the gears... In my opinion, that can never be outweighed by annoyances in traffic. I have AWD in my truck, and I think it's where it belongs... However, I do not drive my car in the winter. ...I just don't think it's necessary in the Carrera or Carrera S, maybe the Turbo needs it.
  8. I only see that liquid rust on the wheels if I don't drive the car right away... If I leave it for a few hours it's also difficult to stop the first time... The only solutions I've found are to either touch-up the wheels after that 1st drive or take her around the block right after washing and then doing a few touch-ups. The quick drive dries the pads...
  9. I've never really noticed that before on my C2S... I know my F-150 does it when the engine is cold. Seems normal.
  10. Is that the one that starts under the shifter and goes forward and down towards your feet? If so, you just need to pull it back towards the back of the car.
  11. ...my Sport wheels came from the factory with 295/30/19s in the rear. But since they only last 10,000 kilometers I'm replacing them with the 305s.
  12. Sorry pgl, I've never noticed mine... Don't think I have ever heard it on... But I do have a coupe, and the engine is never at idle long enough for me to notice. Can't help you on this one.
  13. I have everything on that list minus the Aerokit and Powerkit. But I do have the Sport design wheels and PSE... And I LOVE my car. The Bose stereo sounds great, although there are more than a few times when I'll turn the stereo off to hear the PSE... Now that's a nice sound! I do agree with mglobe about the changer, I never use it. The adaptive seats fit great for me (I'm 6'1") and the sport shifter has a very precise feel to it. The rest of the stuff is less useful but nice to have anyways... I'm sure you'll love it anyway you set it up.
  14. BMW had me sign one in 2002 for my M3... But I don't think I did for the C2S. It might have something to do with the rarety of the model, maybe C4S Cabs are hard to get outside of North America.
  15. Wow, I've never had a problem with mine... But I've always stayed above the recommended 93 octane. Other than the cost, any reason you're using 87?
  16. Well I've caved for now and unplugged the power connector for the valves... Sounds great, but I can see how there would be some situations where you'd like it to be quieter. Anyway, I'm happy with the solution for now. I've used a tie wrap to stop the unplugged connector from flapping around, should I worry about it touching any of the hoses?
  17. Thanks for the help guys... Between 0km/h and 70km/h the valves close with more than a quarter throttle. Above 70km/h it stays open no matter what. There is a noticeable difference in sound, I have no doubt that it's working. A nice low grumble when I start the engine and a great sound when it stays open. I just figured that since we don't have the same sound restrictions that exist in Europe they would have a different program available. I would love to find a way for the system to be always on when in Sport and off in normal...
  18. After driving the car a few more times I feel like the system is working in reverse... Is it supposed to get quieter as throttle input increases? Is there anyway my dealership can program the computer for it to be on all the time when the Sport button is active... Like I original thought when I ordered it...
  19. I just picked my car up from the dealer after getting a new PSE installed... First, when I started the car a warning came up on the display; "System Fault Visit Workshop". They brought it back into the garage and cleared the code... Not sure if that had anything to do with the PSE... When driving in Sport mode I do notice a difference, but it seems to be going on and off. It's loud from idle to about 2,500RPM then seems to fade out sometimes, if I hold it in that range it then gets louder sometimes. I don't know if I'm going crazy, if the system needs to be used a few times, if the valves are getting stuck, or if there's a programming error... Anyone have any ideas? I will bring her back to the dealer sometime this week to have them check it out I guess...
  20. I like my wheels and tires to be as flush to the side of the fenders as possible for one... My second reason is because I was always planning on going up to a 305/30/19 size rear tire. The 5mm spacers ensures that the tire isn't any closer to the suspension or the inner side of the wheel well. Putting all of the extra 10mm on the outside will also make the rear tires look as flush as the front ones. ...and that's why I bothered.
  21. ...the other important thing to remember is that the transmission needs to warm up. I also have the SS kit that I installed last fall and 1st gear does take a couple of tries to get into first thing in the morning. That said, after a few minutes of warming up and it shifts perfectly.
  22. I haven't noticed any more than before... The spacers bring the tires closer to the edge of the wheel well without going past it...
  23. Thanks. I should have done that when they were new and spotless... Next time I get her detailed, I think I'll try applying some of that.
