  1. ...I don't know about it being a waste. Last spring I traded it my 02 M3 for a Carrera S with Sport Chrono and I'm very happy with it. When I had the M I only drove it in sport, I found the normal throttle path to be way too mushy. While is it true that in my Porsche normal is definitely sufficient, sport adds to the fun, you just feel faster when it's on... I know it doesn't add horsepower or shave seconds of a 1/4 mile, but I find it adds to the feel of the car. You get it for the same reasons why you would get PSE or a short shift kit... Both don't add power, but once you have them you'll never want to do without.
  2. I noticed the new Tequipment brochure shows wheel spacers... Anyone install them on a 997 yet?
  3. Nevermind... I just ordered one off of eBay, $339.95 including shipping for the factory kit. Before ordering I drove down to my dealer to throw a sport shift kit through a few gears... WOW... What a difference! I can't wait to get mine in...
  4. Does anyone know of a good place to order the OEM kit that will ship to Canada? Thanks!
  5. I have the Sport Chrono in my S as well... As the Porsche site says "Analog and digital chronometer, sport button in the center console and display in the PCM , also adds ability to adjust lighting, wipers, AC and door locking to suit personal preference." The most noticeable thing that it changes when the button is pressed is throttle response. It is like driving too different cars. The right pedal becomes soo much more sensitive. I'm very happy with it.
  6. I know exactly how you feel. I'm 25 and was a die hard BMW fan. My Carrera S was delivered April 7th 2005... Up to that point all I had were BMWs too... A '97 328i, a '99 328i, and my last was a '02 M3... Initially I was worried that I would find it too similar in performance to my M3 (19" package with H&R sport springs) but my worries disappeared as fast as my M would have in my S's rear view mirror! I LOVE this car! The power, handling, and sheer fun factor outweigh the impracticalities hands down. I know you won't be disappointed.
  7. Ya, thanks, mine's a 9/9/04. I'm sticking to the manual changer... My hand.
  8. Thanks for all the help. My dealer received them yesterday, they were $25ea (CDN) and they came with the amber bulbs installed...
  9. I've seen them on eBay... Does anyone know the Porsche part number? And can they be ordered through the dealers?
  10. Just tried mine over the weekend... The "helicopter noise" is defiantly due to the air flow over the car. That why the roof won't fully open when you use the one touch... If you want to stop your head from exploding just open the passenger windows a touch to equalize the pressure. There is also an unrelated rattle in the head liner when the top is open... My guess is that it's the roof not sitting 100% still in it's retracted position... Don't think there's an easy fix for that.
  11. Basically the suspension button stiffens things up without messing with the basic PSM or throttle response. The Sport button stiffens the suspension plus increases throttle response while letting you get away with a little more before PSM reels you back in. B)
  12. I vote stainless... Chrome is pretty obvious, if you can't see your reflection in them, then I'm pretty sure that they're the standard stainless steel pipes.
  13. Sunset Imports is a lot cheaper... ...about 8 bills with the cable. (I have Bose with Nav)
  14. ...Scott from Continental Imports actually replied to an e-mail I sent and said he can get one for my Carrera S for $890.50us... I guess he's special ordering it. I still think that's steep, but my dealer wants $1,400.00cdn!!!
  15. Thanks! I've sent them a request... Looking around yesterday I did find another source ( http://www.continentalimports.com/ ) but I believe it's a Becker unit.
  16. Hello everyone. I'm about to pick up my new Carrera S and I was wondering if anyone had any information on where to get a CDC-4 other then the dealer?
