jwolfe Welcome to the club! My 987S had three out of four break in the first month. I did a search and found 8 or 9 guys on the UK sites had the same problems with the 987 air vents.
In my case the porsche tech had to pull the entire stereo unit out of the dash to get the center vents out through the bottom. A 2 hour job for him so unless you're bored or masochistic take it in. The replacement parts seem to be OK. 5 months and they haven't fallen off.
Brad
Can somebody please post a picture of the party which in fact is broken?
Thx

Hey, Oli ...
I've got a guy sending me a male recepticle that he thinks will work to de-activate the seatbelt gong ... if it works, I'll report back ... this will, obviously, also disable the dashboard warning & still entails sticking this object in the recepticle ... but, will be handy for those times jockeying cars around the lot, or working on the car with the ignition swith on.
Then, when ready to roll, just pop it out & replace with seat/shoulder belt !!!
Hi jwolfe,
ok, very good, Let me know when you have the solution!
Thx

The seat belt signal goes to the instrument cluster and the airbag control. Since the seat belt signal is used by the airbag circuitry too so I doubt you want to mess with that. The rest of the circuitry is internal to the cluster.
Still, I'm pretty sure my goes off after a few beeps too.
I would not like to switch off or cut the seatbelt signal but the buzzer itself! Is the buzzer used for something else or only for the seatbelt alarm? If we just cut off the buzzer (like to cut off the loudspeaker), everything should be fine.
Does anybody know where the buzzer is located and were the wires lead to?
Thx

Do you know whether B&M Racing has a short shifter that fits into the Boxster 987? B&M does not mention the 987 on their homepage but the 997! http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=produ...cat=3&subcat=15
Thx

Another question:
Do you know which other 18 inch wheels you can use for the Boxster S? Do the 18 inch wheels from the Porsche 997 fit onto the Boxster S? I am looking for some winter wheels!

Hi all,
has anyone figured out a way to de-activate the seatbelt alarms in a Boxster 987 permanently? Only the terrible acoustics not the light between the tachometer? Is the acoustics used for another purpose than the seat belts?
If yes, please let me know how to hack this!
Thx
Oliver
