AVIA8R - so I ended up replacing the parts listed and it worked about 1 in 5 starts, now doesn't work at all... can you describe where the extra grounds are that were put in your car? Not sure if you have access to some pictures, but that would be great if you could help... this is driving me crazy!!!

The dash and the lever correspond with one another and I changed out the shift gate, socket and cover with a factory brand new unit... any other guesses?

My 04 CS, has a couple strange issues, not sure if they are related. I've read all the posts and scoured the net with no luck to fix. The Tiptronic shifter only works about 1 in every 5 starts on the selector lever, the steering controls work just fine. As well I can't remove the key when I turn the car off, this is also intermitent, it seems not to activate the steering wheel locks, you can hear it when it does then it releases the key. I have to turn the ignition to the on position then back off to remove the key and on the dash it asks me to place in "P" and turn key left 2-seconds.... taking the advise from the local Porsche dealer they replaced the shift gate, socket and cover... not cheap. Still no resolve, they have no clue so I'm hoping someone here has had this happen. I've read batteries may cause strange gremlins but I'm thinking something is screwy with my Kessy and wondering if there's a software falsh upgrade I should consider and how can I find out what version I have and what is the latest version. If I were to book another call when the PIWIS is installed to do the check does it automatically update the factory software?

Bump. How did you make out with your install, I've been looking at the exact same solution but can't find a trim kit. Can you let me know where you purchased your trim kit and post any pictures of your install process.

Thanks Matt, I took it by the dealer today and they're telling me that there are two solenoids under the center consol that need to be replaced each one is $300, but only 1-hour for shop labour... so I'm thinking this is probably something I can do... but I may want them to complete it so that they can update the system software to the latest versions. The parts I need are the following. 955-426-011-01 Selector L 955-612-460-00 Plug Socke 955-552-261-01-62W Shift Gate But I can't seem to find an alternate source for the parts other then the dealer. Any help and or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same issue, I drive for a while or a minute then park and I am unable to shut down and pull the key out. I have to reengage the system by turning the key to the right then back to the off position and then the lock releases and I can remove the key... can someone provide feedback to the cause and resolution. I just purchased my 04 Cayenne S and it's great except a couple annoying things like this. Thanks in advance,
