  1. KarlS, Do you know if the traffic Pro would fit in the shelf below the CD storage? I am thinking to leave my Cdr-23 alone and install the Traffic Pro as a stand alone navigation. What do you think? Thanks
  2. I am looking for options for some type of nav system for my 2003 996? I have a CRR-23 with 6-CD changer and MOST. Any ideas?
  3. I have a set of factory workshop manuals for sale. Here is the link in case you are interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...TRK%3AMESE%3AIT
  4. Flagman My car was damaged while in for service. Someone scratched the bumper and hit my passenger door. It was in the body shop for 3 weeks which is another story. Did you deal with Jim or David in the Service Department? I called about my seats and they told me they never heard of the recall either. I can't seem to get the real scoop on the seats. I purchased my car late Nov. from Niello, and I think that it was a early 2003 build.
  5. Flagman I am just curious. What is the production date of your 03 Cab? I also have a 03 cab and I purchased from the dealer in Sacto., but I never received a seat recall. BTW, Niello really screwed up my car as well.
  6. boxer6 Did you get a set of installation instructions with your shifter? Thanks
  7. Tool Pants Thank you for the offer, but the shifter is due to arrive next week.
  8. boxer6 Was the installation pretty much a plug and play, or did you have to make any adjustments? I ordered one the other day. Thanks
  9. Do you know what the list price is? Is this better than the B&M short shifter?
  10. 8 hours to install a on/off switch? That seems a bit high. I would think that there is a relay controlling a electo/mechanical exhaust valve, via a momentary dash switch? There must be more to it? Thanks
  11. If I want to have a functional PSE on/off switch, how difficult is this to install myself? Are there DIY instructions? Thanks
  12. Thermo-plastic does weld, but it is dificult to obtain a weld strength that is the same as the original moulded part strength. However good results can be found. Plastic welding is the same as other welding in that you need to use a filler of the same material, many plastic repair shops will have a pile of ruined old parts that they can use for a filler. If you only need a small amount of filler shave some stips of the back of your part, if you need a lot go to your breakers yard. Do not use a flame with your welding as this will cause oxidation and poor weld strength, try using a soldering iron or get the proper equipment which would be a hot air plastic welder. Hope this helps

  14. I am sorry to hear about your RMS issue. I bet you feel like really getting "pissed". I don't understand why Porsche still has this problem. I have owned many Porsche's over the past 30 years and I feel that the quality has regressed back to the 1970's when the engines leaked like a sieve. Porsche seemed to clean up their act in 1984 with the Carrea. I have owned a 1995 993 since it was new and I never have any problems, yet alone any leaks whatsoever. I just spent $90K on a new C2 a few months a go, now I am really concerned. I would really have to think twice about laying down almost a $100K for a potential time-bomb. I asked my dealer about the RMS issue and he claims it's a non-issue with the 2003 on. Someone is not telling the truth. I hope all goes well for you and you never have another leak.
  15. VIN: WP0AA29954S621789 Transmission: 6-Speed Manual Exterior: GT Silver Metallic Interior: 40 Yr 911/Natural Grey Leather No. of Cylinders: 6 cyl. Displacement: 3.6 liters Additional Equipment: X99 - Natural Leather Code - PAG M6K - Natural Grey Floor Mat C02 - U.S. Standard/Emissions 680 - Bose High End Sound Package MSRP $91K Dealer will sell for $77K Is this a fair deal? Thanks
  16. Can someone find out what's going on? I called my dealer this morning, and they are not aware of a set recall. I have a 03 cab. Thanks
  17. You might still have a bad switch on your clutch. Try shorting the two terminals on the switch, thus bypassing the switch and see if the starter engages.
  18. There have been a lot of threads on this topic here and other sites. What is the likelihood that this will happen to my car? I have a MY2003. My dealer claims that Porsche have corrected the flaw. Is this true? I am very concerned because I only will put about 5K miles per year. Should we/I consider dumping the car before the warranty expires?
  19. Check this out...I wish my PCA was like this one. http://www.porscheclub.ru/projects/penthouse/gallery.asp
  20. Is there any software available to emulate a PST2 on my laptop?
  21. Can I get a good deal in the Bay Area? How much (%) are the dealers willing to discount off of MSRP? Could you recommend where to buy? Thanks
