  1. Porsche changed the color code for the compensation plate thickness. Does anyone know what the new color codes are relative to the plate thickness?
  2. At first I thought I had suspension issues as I would get a rattle/clunk at slow speeds going over rough roads or small bumps. I know there is a steel ball in the fuel sender, and a plastic ball in the fuel filler tube. My car is a 03 cab with 32 K miles. If I rock the car side to side you can hear this annoying rattle in the cabin. My other car is also a 03, but turbo and it has a similar rattle when your rock the car but not as pronounced so I don’t hear it in the cabin. I am posting 2 videos of the noise from a 05 997. Any ideas how to address this annoying problem?
  3. You will need a piwis 2. Just enable navigation in the piwis menu and the PCCM will communicate with the instrument cluster providing turn-by-turn information.
  4. Is it necessary to locktite the flywheel bolts and clutch bolts? My original flywheel bolts are all blue, while my replacement bolts which are OEM, have no visible coating. Also my replacement OEM clutch bolts are silver. The clutch bolts that I removed are gold color with no signs of locktite. Thanks!
  5. There is an inherent software bug in the PCCM Plus OS. The trip odometer will randomly reset. I understand there is an update to fix this. Does anyone know if there is a TSB?
  6. You have a PCM2. You can run your vin in a decoder to find out if your car came with a PCM2.
  7. If you have a MOST system it’s basically plug and play. On the other hand, non MOST system are problematic.
  8. I have installed one in my 03 turbo. 1. Make sure that you replace the following before installing: 996-552-231-12-01C Support frame for center dashboard trim in Satin Black for Porsche 986 and 996 99655265304 Retaining Bar Climate control trim 996-552-339-00-01C 1. Took me awhile to figure out how to install the PCCM retaining brackets so they are secured to the horseshoe. 2. When you re-locate your HVAC control make sure you run the harness on the right side of the dash. There is only one place where the cables will be long enough to connect to the control module. 3. The USB media box harness needs to run to the center of the dash. The harness length is way too short. It took me 15 minutes to connect the small 10 pin connector to the rear of the PCCM, connecting it by feel. 4. You will need a PST2 or PIWIS to code your ecu, if you want map data to display in the instrument display. I used my PIWIS 2 to code the navigation in the instrument control module. 5. I haven’t read any of the manuals yet, but operation is pretty straightforward. 6. I have a Bose system and the sound is amazing, as compared to the CDR23. 7. I would recommend installing a SiriusXM tuner kit. 8. If you have a MOST system, it’s basically plug and play. If not, the PCCM is problematic with grounding and sound issues.
  9. I would replace with a new PCCM plus. I just completed mine. It is a great upgrade over your current PCM. Cost is about $1300.

  12. It's actually attaching to the larger hose (brake booster) via an integrated cable tie. 999 507 544 40 is the one that holds the MAF cable ( I have a few of those). This cable holder attaches to the brake booster hose with a cable tie. Another vacuum line rests in the cable holder cradle. Here is a better picture.
  13. Need help to identify P/N for 2003 TT hose clip/anchor circled in blue that attaches a vacuum line to the brake booster line. Thanks!
  14. Loren, I believe it is the black plastic brake booster vacuum line. The white piece in the picture is a coupler that fastens the hose nipple to it. I am trying find the PN for the line. Thanks!
  15. Thanks jflip. So this is a vacuum line for the brake booster? I was replacing the rubber hose that attaches to this fitting when it came apart. I didn't remove the clip. Now, the hose nipple doesn't seem to fit in the fitting as well as before, (can slide nipple in and out 1/4") so maybe I damaged the fitting. I sprayed soapy water around the fitting, with the engine running and didn't detect any leaks. The brakes seem to work fine. What do you think? I doubt if the fitting is replaceable. Thanks!

Hi Loren, There is a hose that is called Hose Throttle 996-110-654-73 that originates from the intake plenum through a Y fitting, then plugs into a white connector/plastic black pipe through the Socket Fitting P/N 99611065770 that goes to the rear of the engine on the left side. I am not sure where that line terminates. I was replacing the Hose Throttle 996-110-654-73 and was trying to disconnect the Socket Fitting , when the Socket Fitting abruptly came out of the white fitting. Now the Socket Fitting is not as secure in the white fitting, as it was before I messed with it. I checked for leaks at the fitting, but didn't detect any. Nevertheless, I am concerned that it is not a secure fit. PET only shows the Socket Fitting throttle hose P/N 99611065770, but doesn't show the fitting/line where it connects. Here is a better picture. Circled in blue is what I am talking about. I believe the white fitting is called a push-fit. Thanks!
  17. MY2003 TT I am trying to find out the P/N for this white fitting that attaches to the Socket Fitting throttle hose P/N 99611065770. This is on the left rear side of the engine. PET doesn't show the line or fitting. Thanks!

  19. I reinstalled my instrument cluster on a MY 2003 996 cab. Now, all the failure indicators are on, fuel, oil, windshield fluid, and so on. there is also no outside air temp. It seems that every systems has failed. When the fuel warning comes on the message says return to workshop. any ideas what is wrong? Thanks!
  20. I have a 2003 TT X50. What are the pros and cons with going with an unsprung GT2 clutch disc? I know that my tt uses the same pressure plate, flywheel, and throw out bearing as the GT2. thank you!
