  1. I’d like to know whether a multimeter test can be done before I send the replacement switch back to PP
  2. But wait ! The new switch arrived Friday ( Part# 997-613-535-01-A05-OEM ), but when I swapped it in, the fog lights still didn't work ??? Previously, we swapped in a known switch from another Boxster and the fog lights worked fine; this replacement switch won't turn on the fog lights. The switch has a ten (10) pin connector; is there a way to test the functionality ??
  3. Ordered the replacement from Pelican Parts, $150 and free. shipping. Received the new switch in 2 days (they use Fed-Ex).
  4. Solution found ! Went over to SMS in Huntington Beach. Branden took a light switch out of another Boxster and tested it in my car. Sure enough, it was the switch. Also learned how easy the light switch comes out. Ive ordered a replacement from Pelican. Free shipping…. 5. Scroll for most current info…
  6. On my ‘06 987, the fog lights switch will not turn on the fog lights, nor do the little lights by the switch I tested the Fuses 5 and 7 on the top row, they are good.
  7. I went to get estimates on doing a replacement; seems like a legit upholstery shop wants 3K which includes the top, labor and taxes. Here’s a few pics of what my 19 year old top looks like.
  8. The PCCM displays the outside temperature; how can it be set to show the cabin tempereature ?
  9. I previously had the PCCM installed in my ‘06 987. Works as expected and I have the multi page instructions. im curious whether any unexpected options arose, something that most users wouldn’t find ??
  10. I visited my local convertible top specialist ( AAA in Costa Mesa, CA ). The little thin rope would not retract under the top when closing. He told me that it can be replaced and to make an appointment. In addition, I inquired about the life span of a typical canvas top. The 987 -1 is a 2006 model, kept on the garage and. generally protected from the elements. He suggested that it has about a year left despite looking OK, but not new. Anyone have insight into the canvas top life span ? Just curious........
  11. I just had mine tested: The tech tested the two connectors next to the antenna amplifier with the radio switched using a grounded test light. One connector lit the test light; the second connector caused the speaker to vibrate. After reconnecting, both AM and FM were good. Hope this helps.
  12. I finally had the PCCM+ installed at Rocco’s in Costa Mesa. Glad I didn’t try doing it myself. The PO had made some mods that would have confused the heck out of me. Now, I need to find a home for the old non-Bose CDR24. Any suggestions will be appreciated; a friend inquired whether it could be installed in a 914
  13. I ended up ordering the PCCM from Suncoast in Fl. Just got notified it’s been shipped. Any tip about opening and sorting through the parts will be appreciated I have watched several uTube videos; these help
  14. The 986 spare worked for me on Christmas Day; one suggestion, have the locking lug socket handy.
  15. Thank you; I’ll get the bulbs and replace. Not sure of size
