  1. Any tips on purchasing and having the PCCM installed.
  2. Still haven’t installed the sensor. Ran a test: I filled the reservoir to the top and used the windshield washers until the warning light came back on. Then refilled with a measured volume. The reservoir took 66 oz to refill; the warning light went back out. My next test is to not use the washers for awhile, say a week or a month. Then check the level again and determine whether the reservoir leaks when driving. Otherwise, now I’m going to tackle cleaning the top
  3. This went smoothly. I was surprised at the dirt that got into the area where the headlight assembly sits. I put silicon grease on the rails that the headlight use as guide. Went in very easy
  4. After looking at a UTube video, it looks like the Round plug to the left is where the access is.
  5. My 2006 987 needs a headlight bulb replacement. I’m looking at the owners manual for guidance; but need a little help. I opened the carpeting to view the plugged opening. There’s a lower black plug and an upper blue plug. Is the black plug ghe one I use ? and are there any tricks to using the unlocking lever
  6. I love the operation of the intermittent wiper operation on my 2006 base Boxster 987 My question : Where is the rain sensor located ? And, how does is work ?
  7. Ok, I locked the car with the key fob, the Central Locking Switch flashes. According to the owners manual, the part just behind the windshield ( see pic above) is a temperature sensor and GPS antenna
  8. If it’s in the same module as the manual spoiler switch, you may need to order a new module; also known as a Stab Switch. Dealers can get you the right one based on just the VIN, mine cost around $125.
  9. Ok, that’s what I thought. What would I do to activate it ?
  10. I thought the part in the center was an alarm light, but not certain what is goes or how it works. It’s part 1 on the PET diagram IIRC
  11. Whenever I go over the slightest bump in the road the visors starts falling down. When I push it back up, the visors doesn’t “snap” back into position. My passenger side is fine. What is the fix ?
  12. As soon as the switch arrived, the warning light went out. Some posts suggest the switch can act erratically. keeping an eye on the situation.
  13. Orders in: wondering how easy replacing the sensor is goons bee. watched a video, but not clear to me
  14. Thank you. I’ll get an order in today.
  15. I saw several listed; can you pinpoint the part number? the car is a 2096. 987
  16. And I should be able to replace myself ?
  17. I’m ready to do this; my warning light is on….
  18. What is the main cause of the warning light despite having water in thr tank ?
  19. Another issue was the UTube videos vary, seems like not all 987 doors are alike. The closest was the video for a Cayman door. And, those door clips are really on there. Here’s a pic:
  20. Same thing here. I watched the 3 UTube videos and had a friend come over to help. The reason the latch went limp is most likely the spring becoming loose. We didn’t detect any broken parts, but that spring has to catch at both ends.
  21. My driver side door latch went limp too; door can be opened though. There is a iTunes video showing how to replace the part. I’ll post a link to it later. I now have the replacement part and plan to R&R next Monday. ‘here’s the link: https://youtu.be/fFDOKRFI464
  22. Update: mission accomplished ! A friend and I did the replacement in 2 hours. We reviewed the video several times. The video is good to a certain point . My shifter surround is solid and immovable; but it turned out that the switch could be removed after removing the side panels and 4 screws. At this point the push-in tabs on the module could be seen. We pressed them in and pulled out the module. Here’s a pic of those tabs;
  23. There is a terrific UTube video on replacement of the switch module. Going to do the R/R this Friday. *** The T30 screws were really in tight and hard to reach. I’d recommend using a power tool to lessen the strain.
