Had the coolant pipes replaces w aluminum early on as most have. Unfortunately, the heater tees were never replaced and one broke while out in the desert. not good. Does anyone know whether the coolant pipe litigation covers these tees as well?
Hi 06 Cayenne TT I can't seem to get the compressor to run when the tire filler hose is attached. The voltages on the reed switches seem to switch properly. Air suspension works fine but air pressure availability at the tire fill connection is intermittent. any help?
BTW, Cayenne TT 06 Finally got brake lights working with factory hitch and prodigy P2 brake controller. Bought hitch kit from Porsche dealer had independent garage install it several months ago. Decided to add aftermarket brake controller to the mix. Purchased the mating 4 pin connector from the VW dealer, 1J0-972-782 as well as 000-979-228-E wire set. Installed the terminated wires into the connector, sniped the loops and spliced the wire ends onto the Prodigy harness. There are many posts about the location of the factory brake controller pigtail location under the dash and the wire colors for the various signals, just match function to function. Result; Trailer brakes worked great, running and turn lights work but no brake lights. Solution; had the Porsche supplied trailer light controller (that came with hitch) updated then re-flashed with USA hex. The light controller now operates both turn signal filaments when brakes are applied.
Had the same problem (intermittent, then no video) on 06 CayenneTT, however one of the conductors inside the cable connecting the camera was broken at the flex loop just outside the camera. Ended up making a new cable with 28AWG Tefzel wire and terminating it to the molex connector inside the camera's PCB. The other end of the cable is an SMB FAKRA which can be bought at Digikey. The power wires have to be broken out and spliced to the actuator power as well. Works perfect
Have 06 TT. Cayenne soaking in yesterday's heat (108f) all day long, starts and runs fine. Move into the garage last night no dramas. Attempt to start the car this afternoon, everything dead, no lights... absolutely nothing. By the way, when system is dead, you can't remove the ignition key. Jumped it at the jump posts located near the drivers side hood pivot, engine starts and runs fine, lights, dash normal. restarts like there was never a problem ever. My only conclusion is there must have been a relay malfunction. any thoughts? PS. Weather has been very hot in Los Angeles last few days.
Update: Took it all apart again and found both lamps blown. I had not checked them beforehand, assumed they were fine. Replaced the lamps... clear side markers now work like a champ!
motec replied to bigbuzuki's topic in 9PA, 9PA1 (Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne Turbo S)I think it's normal, mine does the same thing. You can also feel it as the engine revs just slightly over idle rpm. Looking with a scan tool it seems the timing becomes quite advanced over idle levels and the secondary air operates which is the cause of the rough running feel.
motec replied to bigbuzuki's topic in 9PA, 9PA1 (Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne Turbo S)How many seconds does the engine run rough?
I bought mine from the porsche dealer $48/pair
Parking light function doesn't illuminate either of them. However, when parking light is activated on either side, a small forward facing bulb within the HID assembly turns on. Perhaps the side marker lights are non functional (not connected) in a US model Cayenne.
To be clear, I have installed them. I just can't find the switch or condition allowing the bulbs to turn on
Replaced the amber front side marker housings with clear ones. They look great. Went to see how they looked when illuminated and was unable to get them to turn on. Is there a secret handshake?
