  1. How can I lookup the radio code for my 05 996 Turbo S? DO I need the VIN?
  2. Need some help. Trying to diagnose why I cannot boost more than .4 bar. Have a 2005 Turbo S with 17k miles, FVD Exhaust, 100 cell cats, FVD Headers, EVOMS DV and FVD Flash. I am don't drive the car too much maybe 3000 miles a year (hoping to get this number much higher once I resolve this). Here is what has been eliminated: No codes apparent (checked with Durametric and PIWIS) No Boost Leak, smoke and pressure tested no leaks anywhere DVs hold vacuum properly Stock Wastegates open at close properly After eliminating the above we thought it might be that I had some bad fuel in the car and might be detecting some knocking. So I ran the tank to completely empty and put in some fresh 93. Immediately upon driving, the car was back to boosting .8 to 1 bar (have an FVD flash). Great we thought so we call it a night. Did not drive the next day, but I hopped in the car tonight and its back to boosting .4 bar. Any ideas?????? Possible Culprits: -Bad Maf Sensor -Bad Knock Sensor -Bad ECU Flash -Maybe a fuel pump starting to fail? What do you guys think? Any suggestions on how to diagnose? Help would be MUCH appreciated!!!
  3. I could use some help from the techies on the board. Some background: I was testing the car for boost leaks and found one on one of my diverter valves (I believe they are evoms billet valves, installed prior to my purchase). I believe the leak is on the outlet side (not were the piston seals the inlet), apparently the outlet threads in to the diverter valve body and it was leaking as it was not tightened properly. My question is, if I want to bench test the valves prior to installing, if I blow air in through the inlet, should air pass through the outlet if the piston is sealed? I think not but I am not sure. If any of the above is technically incorrect (i.e. I am mixing up inlet versus outlet) feel free to correct me, still learning... Thanks for the help!
  4. I just ordered a Durametric to check out why my car (05 996 Turbo S, FVD Flash & Exhaust) is only see .5 bar. No faults or CEL, but on under the Durametric "Ready Status" it shows "Catalytic Converter Efficiency - Fail". Anyone have an idea what this might be? Thanks
  5. I need to do the same. What part number did you order?
  6. Thanks! So if I had a DVD based system it would be in the trunk?
  7. I recently purchased a 2005 996 Turbo S and I have done quite a few searches here, on rennlist and on 6speed but I am not 100% sure what version of PCM I have, if is CD based or DVD based if 2.0 or 2.1 or 3.0... When I hit "Main" + "Trip" it says: PCM 3.0 & Software 3.0. Any help / guidance would be much appreciated!
