  1. Maybe this will be helpful also for replacing oxygen sensor driver side before cat, bank 2 sensor 1, Cayenne turbo 2005. Remove engine plastic covers, under car splash guards belly pan, peel back wheel well liner half way is enough. Trying to remove the sensor going from top was too difficult for me, the gap between the engine and heatshield is just too narrow. I rigged up a tool from a cheap 22mm open end wrench and went in from the bottom. I had to modify my 22mm wrench by bending it with torch and cutting a bit of the tip 24mm side (depending on the length of the 22mm wrench you may need to bent it slightly different). There is just enough room on the side of the cat for my right hand to finger in the tool, left hand reaching in from wheel well opening helping to seat the tool onto the sensor (2 rubber hoses in the way but flexible enough to push down a bit). Once the tool was seated firmly on the sensor, I used a long screwdriver going in between the tool and steering column gaining leverage to loosen the sensor by prying at the tool (if your fingers are very strong you maybe able to loosen the sensor with 22mm wrench only). After a few small turns it was easy enough to loosen by hand. It is helpful to have someone untwist the sensor wire from top while it is being loosen, same with putting new sensor back. New sensor going in is same as reverse but definitely easier if someone lower the sensor down from above. Do not over tighten since no torque wrench can be used. My hands size fit medium gloves. I think there is enough room for larger hands, unless you have really large hands and banana fingers.
  2. I found these Zimmermann rotors on ebay for cheap. Set of 4 front and rear 350mm - The seller has it advertised for $325 plus shipping ($35 for me from NC to NY) but willing to take offers. I offered him $240 for 2 sets and he accepted. I think he has 1 more set left so if you need hurry. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-Cayenne-Zimmermann-brake-rotor-18-SET-of-4-NEW_W0QQitemZ250597796161QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a58cae941#ht_534wt_939 or search for Porsche Cayenne Zimmermann brake rotor 18" SET of 4 NEW item # 250597796161 I received them already within 1 week, heavy suckers, good looking rotors.
  3. The locksmith Maurice recommended charged $10 to cut the key in less than 5 minute. I can't be sure about the remote compatibility, but I am guessing if is the same 2 or 3 buttons as your original remote, it should work. Find a good locksmith in your area and get the key cut, then go to another dealer and say the remote just stopped working. This way they can't BS you with the incompatible crap. If in fact the remote is indeed incompatible for some reason, ask them the part # for the remote and get one somewhere else. You'll find new remotes on ebay sometimes with the part number advertised, less than $90 - I got one for $50 new. $200-$300 for a new key is already pricy but is the average rate for modern cars now. Close to $500 is just ridiculous. It’s almost like the wiper blade strategic pricing scheme; the same part sells for about 30% less at VW. Just because I can afford a Porsche doesn’t mean I am happy to pay way over priced parts. Paying a premium for luxury cars and related services is expected but I won’t just fork over whatever they ask - they get me when I have tunnel vision with them shiny beautiful new cars already every few years. Maybe the easy money crowd doesn’t care but I work hard for mine. Lou
  4. Hi Mitult, hate to bother you but can you help me get a set? Unless there is a way I can get it myself please let me know. I have a 05 CTT, I think the coils are all the same for the V8 engines. I don't mind is not the most updated part since is cheap and I'll have a spare set just in case. Thanks, Lou
  5. Sorry for your problems and the poor dealer PPI. Hopefully it will run like a champ after problems fixed. I think the quality of the dealerships vary greatly. I had a PPI done a few years back at Paul Miller in NJ and the tech guy was very thorough. He even pointed out the missing core valve of the spare tire - a $1.00 fix - and other potential problems such as worn carden shaft that may need to be replaced in about 1 year, etc... No surprise otherwise, and still crossing my fingers of course. Good Luck
  6. Thanks to Maurice I have 2 spare keys now. Unfortunately the locksmith was not able to clone my key even just for the fuction of starting the car; remote functions already knew not possible unless from dealer. My CTT has keyless entry and start so maybe that's why. But I am happy to have a couple of spare keys just to open door in case of a lockout or something. I am always anxious during auto car wash and expected the doors may lock by itself anytime and me standing there without a solution except breaking the least expensive glass (I had only 1 key). After I learned that when battery needs replacing electrical mishaps often happens added to my occassional night terror. I was about to breakdown and go to the dealer but now I have 2 spare keys and just need the dealer program them to car, may cost less than $100 hopefully and I'll go when I'm ready. I got the 2 key fobs from ebay about $40 each and the keys cut for $10 each. I know some locksmiths can cut these keys, not all, and the one Maurice recommended was very good. I know for a fact that dealers will program your key. They may not cut the key for you unless you buy it from them (I asked a few dealers already), but they will program it if is already cut. Worst case just say the keys stopped working. I remember reading Cayenne can only accept 2 keys, not sure. Good Luck with yours
  7. Thanks so much Maurice for the info. I already have a blank key will try to get it done this weekend at the locksmith and hope to post some good news. Lou
  8. Humm, I'm gonna have to take a step back from getting the rocker guard. For me it will only be a cosmetic add on and not even sure if its gonna look good, not to mention the wife will still have to climb onto the seat.
  9. Same here, I wanted to have an extra key but dealer cost is about $500 so I winced and said no thanks. I am in NYC area if Maurice can let me know the locksmith do did the clone key would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lou Happy Healthy and Prosperous New Year To All
  10. I only take mine out to dirt road once in a while, definitely nothing really rough. I was thinking about getting these rocker guards as an alternative to the full running board which maybe a bit large for my taste. My wife is short and practically has to climb into the seat, kinda fun to watch sometimes especially when I raise the suspension on purpose. She would question if the truck got taller and I'd answer may be you got shorter, she still doesn't know the suspension is manually adjustable.
  11. Happy New Year everyone What do you guys think of the Rocker Guard part # 955 044 801 07 ? Do they really serve any purpose? Are they like smaller running boards. It looks like you can't step on them but I have never saw one up close. Lou
  12. Thanks for the info, the flammable part is scary. I will definitely keep check the fluid level very often the coming days. Where is the steering rack boots anyway? Thanks
  13. Hi, love this forum and helpful members. I've definitely learn lots. Had my 05CTT for about 2 years now and always a thrill to drive. Yesterday after a 2 days snow storm I started it like always and noticed louder than usual cold start up with a kinda whiny WOMMmmmmm sound. Thinking maybe its the belt and drove with extra attention to the sound. The whine disappeared after about 30 minutes of driving and back to normal. Today during cold start up the same WOMMmmmmm and now I am really freaked but was in a hurry so did not investigate more until I was at my destination. While driving I noticed the WOMMMMmmm was louder as I turn the steering wheel so when I looked under the hood the first thing I checked was the power steering fluid level. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the reservoir was almost empty – last time I checked was more than 1 year ago and when I serviced the car last there was no note from the dealer. I was pondering for like ½ hour whether to drive it to the nearest dealer or not; I did but each turn I was wincing like something might fall out, haha, the sound disappeared by now. I got to the dealer and got power steering fluid and since I’m there brake fluid also, $65.00. I was thinking It must be 1 quart low or something but only took about 1/4. I never noticed a leak so must be normal absorption? Anyway, hope tomorrow will be a better day and there is no permanent damage. While at the dealer, Manhattan Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini, I noticed the rate was like $145 or $195 / hr. Not sure what my usual dealer rate is but no problem since warranty over so never looked into it. Maybe look for a Porsche, VW dealer in NJ rate will be lower. Happy Holidays
  14. On second thought, maybe its really cold where you are and some leaked washer fluid mixed with some ice that got kicked up while driving, like the other guy said, and then dripped back down???
  15. I'm eating some jello now and that looks like blueberry. It's gotta be windshield washer fluid, but the conjealed globs are weird stuff.
