  1. Hi! My Tension Rope is broken in the middle. I would like to order a new one. http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod8790/Tension-Rope-Porsche-996---997-99756192100/ How can I crimp the loose end to the rope? Do I really need a special Porsche tool for that or can I just use regular pliers for that? Thank you. Christian
  2. Hi! I seem to have the same problem. Is there a DIY or can somebody explain to me, how I can disassemble the side of the roof in order to reach the connector of the cable? Thx. Regards, Christian
  3. Hi Loren! It is a 996 C2 Cabrio from 2002 (Facelift). It has a Bose Sound System and a CD Changer. The actual Radio is the CR 220. I did some research now and my favorites are the Becker Traffic Pro 4720, 7820 or the Indianapolis (includes MP3). As far as I have read the infos regarding these I only have to rewire one pin in order to make the amplifier work. Are there other good alternatives? Thank you! Best regards, Christian
  4. Hi Loren! Thank you for the quick answere. I guess I have to get a new radio then.... BTW do you have a recommendation for a new one for a 996 with BOSE sound system? ;) Thank you very much. Christian
  5. Hi! Is it possible to change the country code of the Becker CR 220 to Europe? In the manual and witin the regular Menu I found only Asia, South America, Africa and so on is possible. Thank you very much. Best regards Christian
  6. Hi! OK. I did upload the file here. I hope that works better. The author of this nice and helpful DIY is "996-Frank" from the german www.PFF.de forum. Best regards, Christian Sidemarker_to_Turn_German.pdf
  7. Hi! A colleague in a german forum did write a nice DIY for this. It is in german, but the pics and the explanations here hopefully make it understandable. http://www.pff.de/wb...9d1a0cf715864e3 Christian Christian, Thanks for this - but can you detail the instructions a little bit more? Thanks
  8. Hi! I did the conversion a couple days ago. It is even easier than described within the link. I just cutted the cable of the sidemarkers at the connectors in the trunk and connected them to the cable of the turn signal for each side with a short additional cable. So you do not have to attach a new wire to the sidemarkers. Best regards, Christian
  9. Hi Loren, the code below did not work. So today I visited my Porsche dealer. The correct code is 9813. So you nearly hit it. :-) Best regards, Christian Try 8813 or 8811 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  10. @ Loren: I also would like to transfer the sidemarkers into blinker lights like Per Gunnar for Europe. Do you have a DIY for that, which you could provide to me? Thank you very much. Chris
  11. Thank you very much. As soon as the car arrives in germany, I will try it out. Best regards, Christian
  12. Hi Loren, the preowner of my 996 Cabrio lost the code card. It would be very nice, if you can help me out. 2002 996 Cabrio 3.6 Porsche CR 220 (Becker) Type 4362 SER. 25006797 Thank you very much. Best regards, Christian
