  1. Mama Mia, this was a project! It almost beat the band. If it hadn't been for your excellent post, I think I would be out about $1,200 plus the $550 for the pipe kit. Your warnings about the screws and connectors proved to be very valuable. I avoided the pitfalls you described, only to be bitten by the rear rigid hose on the intake manifold. Somehow I messed up the connector and had to purchase a new venturi line. Couldn't just buy a connector, got to get the entire line, $80 and thank you very much form the Porsche store. I am still in the middle of this project. All pipes have been r
  2. The last time I turned on the Bi-xenon headlights in my 04 Cayenne S, one headlight is now a bright shade of purple. The other one is OK. Does anyone know what the fix for this problem is? Zok
  3. Loren, Sorry about that. I guess i am a bit too focused on my little key problem. Zok
  4. is it possible to bypass the imobilizer in a 97 boxster. I have been having key chip failures and am getting tired of paying the Porsche store $100 to reprogram them. Zok
  5. Juniinc, It was the f**king key chip. After batteries, jumped clutch switches and a new ignition switch, it appears my problem was a faulty key chip. I tried my spare key and the car started. go figure. Zok
  6. casharp1, Voltage across battery is 12.5V, voltage during starting attempt is the same, no fluctuation. The starter does not click. The problem started when I replaced the battery, about a month ago. After the battery replacement, the car started OK 3 or 4 times, about 3 days between each starting event. The last time I attempted to start the car the ignition turned on as normal, but when I turned the ignition switch to the start position, nothing. I checked the battery, almost totally drained. I charged the battery and tried to start. nothing. I replaced the ignition switch.
  7. I am still wrestling with the starting problem on my 97 boxster. I have replaced the ignition switch and battery. I have bypassed the clutch interlock switch. When I turn on the ignition, all warning lights come on, radio & headlights work. Absolutely no power to the starter motor. Unless there is another fuse or relay in the starter circuit, I am starting to think replacing starter motor is the only option left. I just want to be sure i have explored every option prior to changing the starter motor. As Little Richard would say......Hep Me, Hep Me, Hep Me Pleeeeeeeeeeease!!
  8. The car does not turn over at all. I removed the two wires from the switch mechanism on the top of the clutch pedal and hooked them together. Still nothing. Are there any other relays or switches ? Thanks.
  9. I replaced the battery in my 1997 Boxster a couple of weeks ago. I attempted to start the car after it had been sitting for about a week and the battery was dead. I charged the battery and the car still would not start. It appeared the starter motor was not getting any juice. I just replaced the ignition switch, still no start and the battery is now drained to abut 50% after sitting for 4 hours. Is there another switch or relay in the starter circuit that could be blown? Any assistance will be appreciated. Zok
  10. It appears that the long driveshaft in my 2004 CS has an out of balance problem. The posts I have seen here suggest a replacement shaft is the only way to fix my vibration problem. Are ther any instructions on doing this replacement? Any suggestions are welcome. Zokman
  11. Probably not - you will need a PIWIS tester. So, find a shop or dealer with one. Thanks for the information. Is there an aftermaket tester available? You can check with the folks at Durametric - but I do not think their software does this yet. I went to the dealer, got the computer fault codes reset and everything works except the side vents. I have seen a couple of posts about actuators. Could this be another problem with my system?

  13. I have just replaced the a/c module on my 2004 cayenne. the replacement was simple, but now i have a flashing display for about 10 seconds after the engine is started and the controller does not appear to be functioning correctly. The dealer says the master computer needs to be reset. can i do this myself?
  14. Thanks for the reply. Did you take any photos of the job? I will check with the local dealer for the part needed. It seems there is always some "trick" to removing a lot of the trim items on this car. Just have to get into the Porsche Zen mode and everything goes fine.
