  1. That is correct... The MAFS are no longer in use.

Rather that trying to explain it (which I probably can't) here is an article on MAF vs Speed Density... Pros and cons. Although it's not an article specific to Porsche the principles are the same..

    http://www.pcmforles...uning&Itemid=56

For my ECU tune I have a "MAF less" file. This basically elimanates information from the MAF sensors and the DME does the load calculations... If I want to use the MAF system again I just reload the file and plug the MAF's back in..

An interesting foot note.. The new 991 runs Speed Density and no longer uses the MAF system...

    All the best!

    Whose tune are you using.

  2. My '09 C4S does not make a "chirp" when I lock or unlock the doors using the electronic key fob. Is there a way to get the car to make a "chirp" when I lock/unlock the doors?

I have the Durametric Professional Cable that allows one to make changes to the coding in the various modules of the DME(Onboard Computer). We have discussed this issue in other forums and as far as I know there is no way to alter the coding in the "alarm" module to make the car "chirp".

I think 09 newer 997-2 can be programmed differently with a PIWIS 2 tester.Best check with the dealer that has a PIWIS 2.

If you take it to a dealer and he changes the various modules with the Porsche Tester to make it "chirp", please give the forum a "heads up" as to what changes he made and to what modules.

I had a 09 Cayman S and now a 2012 Carrera S and can't make the change. Maybe the Durametric Beta 6 SW does not "see this Coding".

  4. Thanks, but where can I find Loren's instructions for this. Sorry to be so computer challenged, hopefully I'm better with a wrench! Jeffrey

I have replaced both sides of the cylinder with the instruction the Loren provided. It took about 1.5hours only.

In additional to that, it will be easier to approach the cylinders if you remove the inside panel.

For the hydraulic oil, I bought it off from the dealer. You will need to refill it twice. The system will bleed out all air automatic.

About 90% of the bottle will be consummed.

    See post #6 above.

  5. Hi everyone....another question.

I've got a 2000 C4 Millenium edition with the stock chromed wheels. The center caps with the porsche logo are also chrome. I want to replace these center caps with chrome ones that have the full color logo. I think they look better. Suncoast sells the full color logo caps but it does not seem that they are chrome.

Anyone know where I can find a set?

    Thanks much!
