  1. Still change the oil yearly at minimum. I get the oil changed in my 997 yearly regardless of whether I've hit my 7000 mile limit, as it's one of the easiest ways of keeping the engine in rude health. Also bear in mind that short, infrequent trips can age oil quicker than if the car was a daily driver, due to moisture contamination.
  2. This isn't down to a faulty or badly designed part per se, but the location of the Coil Packs. Primarily, issues are caused by water spray, but mainly it's the heat exposure due to close location to the rear silencers. I'd say that getting to 80k on the originals is good going!
