  1. 65,000 miles 2001 996, no oil consumption, not a daily driver but the motor is strong as new
  2. This may sound crazy but it worked for me. A friend told me to try turning the pump handle upside (a80 degrees) from normal position and it works. I cant explain why but it does. 2001 996. Give it a try. Scott
  3. I am in Apollo Beach and going to be doing the brake rotors and pads next weekend. You are welcome to stop by. Bring ATE, Pads, Rotors, Sensors if you like and diet orange sunkist. Scott
  4. These look better than new. Will you tell me about the powder coating process? Is this doen at home or did you send thees out. Thanks, Scott
  5. It is tough to achieve this goal and retain the comforts of a daily driver. I would probably set a goal (and budget)of say 300 lbs and see what I could accomplish, exhaust system, keep the cats, add sst headers and lose the mufflers, change out seats but lose some comfort, lighten up the wheels, ditch the sound system, remove front trunk trim/carpet, lose the spare tire for a start. Good luck and let us know what you find. Scott
  6. http://www.bumperplugs.com/BPindex.html You can also find aftermarket painted covers here. They give an updated look from the early model black 996 oem look. All the best, Scott
  7. Last months Excellence magazine had an very good article on the IMS and upgrading to the most current specs. Part numbers and tools were detailed. I still would not save the labor on this one. Scott
  8. I have Lloyd's mats also and they are tough as nails and the nap has stayed like new after 4 years. They were a great buy!
  9. Hi, If it was me and I was interested in dropping this much money I would call Doug at Vortex MotorSports (formerly Dave White Racing) and pay them to do an inspection. Vortex is a very good shop that specializes in P-car racing. They are very reputable. You can tell him Scott Jaehne (Blue 996) referred you to them. Their number is 813-874-1911. Call and talk with Doug. If you feel comfortable after talking let them give you a professional opinion. Here is their website. Good luck with the car. http://www.vortexmotorsport.com/ Regards, Scott
  10. The last two months of Excellence Magazine has had very good detailed articles on the RMS and IMS replacement topics
