  1. Loren I have same kit with lilac / cream / orange for front but lilac / cream / blue dot fro rear as do most of the pictures I have seen on line. What does that mean? I did lots of research and even was about to buy another set and emailed Gert on Carnewal.com and when he had those were blue as well. There was a resource on Porsche Owners Club website that listed color codes and blue was listed. I can't seem to find a link to it anymore. About to install mine in a few weeks and want to be sure correct for a 2004 C2. I can't figure out how to upload a picture here and now I am confused :/
  2. I just had same done to my passenger window: Regulator: $206.00 @ Suncoast Parts Indy 1.5hr labor: $150.00 So yea the stealership lived up to their name which is why I never set foot in one.
  3. PSE is not worth retrofitting to a car for the $$ you spend just get FisterD and it is 95% the same. My buddy has PSE and I have FisterD and you can barely tell the difference. His is 3.4 vs my 3.6 x51 but trust me 95% of the same sound the one difference is being able to go into quite mode vs. the FisterD but why would you even need that feature? My car is quite as stock as long as I stay off the throttle and zero drone unlike some of those after market exhaust out there. My .02 is FisterD was best money I have spent.
  4. Anyone have X74 parts list and installation instructions / alignment specs? I just bought a set of springs / shocks (I don't need sway bars as my 4oth AE already has correct ones) and just want to make sure I haev everything I need. Also, I guess good idea to replace all bushings while i so this right? Car has 54k miles on it.
  5. Same issue on my 2004 and I have followed steps to a "T" with car on as well as with just ignition on and it goes through all the learning steps but then as soon as turn it off back to same issue. Manually holding buttons sunroof works fine and if you tilt it firs then the close it the one touch will work fine as well. Used to one touch until recently I just don't get it. Replaced switch and had Indy look at and he's perplexed as well.
  6. I like the white / black rim look orlandoguy1 when i was looking for my car I actually wanted a white 996 to do similar but hey love my 40th AE so silver it is. As far as MSRP goes since some people are "bragging" my sticker says $96k. So, I guess mines is bigger, lighter and faster all at once, LOL.
  7. I always wanted one too but thought they were overpriced for what they are a piece of per cut foam.
  8. I second Dr. Headlights they did mine 2 years ago and still look great the UV coating the apply really helps.
  9. 2004 40th AE w/ 54,000 miles and I shift at 4k-5k around town and I to hit the rev limiter at least one in a while. The X51 engine beckons to be revved through mt FisterD modded mufflers so I tend to oblige. Had her 2 years never an issue change the oil religiously every 5k miles and daily drive her.
  10. I assume "ignition switched on" means car not running but key to the on/accessory position and the "lift" button is the middle one?
  11. Where can I find that procedure? I found one on another site but that one did not work.
  12. I did mine but no luck still doing same thing. I have a feeling may be doing it wrong. I tried with car on and car off but ignition ket to on. Sunroof works but have to tilt first and then close it so it will one touch???
  13. I made that bonehead move the other day checked oil, saw that was a little low but I failed to let settle. Checked again level was good and closed engine cover car was all over the place running rough, misfiring, sluggish pulled over and the problem became apparent ;)
  14. Maybe someone can shed some insight into what is up with my sunroof. It stopped working all of a sudden but if you played with the switch it would work intermittently and the tilt functions worked fine it was just when you toggled button to rear that there was an issue. So I figured oh easy fix the switch is bad, ordered switch and swapped it out. Viola' it worked. Took it for a drive and the more I actually played around with it the more I realized it's not working like it used to. It was always one touch open/close now I 50% of the time it's one touch close 50% of the time it hold to close. One touch open is a hit an miss BUT, if you tilt it first then close it it will one touch no problem? The motors seem fine speed once it gets going is good, no binding tracks are clean and I lubricated them a little. WTF? It's like it has lost its mind. Any ideas or where I can start trying to figure out what is happening?
  15. LOL, I have a 996 and that is the reason I am asking. But the pictures are exactly the same :(
  16. Can someone point me to an x74 installation how-to? Also, why does every local dealer / reseller say x74 is discontinued? I know available from Europe but with dollar vs. Euro rat it seems pretty expensive for 4 shocks and coils.
  17. I need some alignment specs for my 40AE Installing new rims and rear tires Saturday so taking opportunity to align as well. I need some help figuring out alignment specs to give installer. Car is 2004 40th Anniversary Edition on 030 suspension w/ 235/40/18x8" fronts & 295/30/18x10.5" rears. Street use but very "spirited" street use
  18. Thinking of getting some 18" Victor Innsbruck rims in matte black to put on my 2004 40th AE. This is a street car but I just hate the chrome look of the factory rims on the 40AE I have on now and being silver I figure would look nice in matte. I believe GT3 spec rims are 18x8.5 40mm offset front and 18x11 63mm offset rear and I like that look. The Victor website shows the offsets on the Innsbrucks as 45mm for the front and 55mm for the rear in 10.5" and 50mm in 10". Ideally, what size tires should I run? I currently run 235/40 18x8 50mm offset front and 295/30 on 18x10 65mm offset rear with ZERO rubbing issues. Car is stock height but I may wish to go with x74 down the road and I just don't want rubbing issues but at same time would love to fill out the wheel well. Car is an x51 2004 Anniversary Edition. Should I go: 1. Innsbrucks at 10"x18" ET50 w/285 rear vs. OEM 10"x18" ET65 2. Innsbrucks at 10.5"x18" ET55 w/295 rear vs. OEM 10"x18" ET65 3.Innsbrucks at 10.5"x18" ET55 w/285 rear vs. OEM 10"x18" ET65 Car is an x51 2004 I used these wheel and rim offset calculators others may find them helpful: http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
  19. I know, I know use the search feature. Thanks. Now that we got that out of the way. I just want a simple yes or no is the 2010 GT-3 shifter worth the $179.00 over the regular 997 one? i don't like the SSK nor the B&M so I want just a bit shorter throw and I am not tracking the car. It is my semi DD and all I am looking to do is minimize the row boat feel, LOL. After reading buch of posts basicall looks like 2010 GT-3 and 997 shifter are identical except for metal bushings. For $200 that is some expensive metal. The concern I have is vibration and tranny noise with the metal and basically is there evean a difference you can feel? Ready to order so please give me some feedback, thanks guys.
