  1. Finally got these Conti DWS 295/40R21 ordered and installed on my BBS rims. More rubber, than 295/35R21 but not enough to rub against the wheel well ! so happy with these Contis :-)
  2. Thanks for your help, I had closer look at the Conti 295/40R21 and they are not as good as I thought they would be, maybe 50% life left. Now I am seriously thinking about getting new rims and tires (i.e. 275/40R20 or 22) for a cost of new tires only 295/35R21. Unfortunately 21” tires are ridiculously expensive, and there are not to many brand options. And possibly sell my OEM 21” 10.5 BBS RX2 rims. Still making my mind :-)
  3. 2008 Cayenne S. I have 21” BBS rims and my OEM tires are 295/35R21 are done, need to be replaced. Want more rubber, more cushion and found good deal on 295/40R21 tires from GL550 ... did anyone tried to drive on slightly (about 1” taller) rubber, I understand the speed will be off a bit which is OK with me. My only concern is if there is enough room in the wheel well vertically, (tire width is the same) ... ???
  4. Thanks guys, I have started a ticket with Durametric ... couldn't get hold of them via phone. Will keep you posted Thanks again for your input! Ted
  5. Thanks Loren, I have diagnosed with the Durametrics Enthusiast version (my own), and did again with one of my friends' mechanic the PRO vesion ... in both instances no error codes, ... I'll be talking to Durametric tomorrow, and see what they say? Thanks!
  6. 2008 Cayenne S V8, non-turbo, 55K kilometers ... did the Durametric PRO Diagnostics, found no faults, 0 codes ... the check engine light went off. After driving for 2 days Check Engine light comes back again ... :-( Did the diagnostics again! same thing the light cames back after couple of days! ... did anyone had this anoying problem ???? ...
  7. When my 08 was at the oil service dealer gave my V6 loaner and I could believe how much slower the V6 is, ... feels lighter, which is the good thing but you have nothing special under the gas pedal, ... get the S if you want true Porsche engine SUV, otherwise save money and buy V6 VW Toureg
  8. this may sound very strange but my 08Cay S with 32K km on it didn't start several times and I was obviously furious about it, ... but on the end it was my fault ... I was just to quick with the key and too slow with pressing the brake pedal ... sounds like something unreal, but that' s what was going on ... now just got to make sure my brake pedal is pressed first, and than I turn the key, ... i think, if you're rushing and doing it at exactly same time it may be few milliseconds off and late with pressing the brake ... and the computer "the brain" gets confused ... that's my 2 cents ...
  9. Recommended summer tires for the 21" wheels are VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA ... I got set from Cal and I love them! ... I am not sure though if they make winters for 21" size ...
  10. Thanks, I got now!, I do have the DVD which makes it the PCM ver. 2.1 ... Cheers!
  11. I was trying to find out which PCM version I have in MY2008 Cayenne S ... and after pressing the MAIN and TRIP buttons simultaneously I got the Software VER 4.1 ... Never heard of ver.4.1 ... am I missing something?
  12. Just thinking about getting a code reader from the Durametrics for my 08 Cayenne S, (non-turbo) 4.8l ...but DURAMETRICS has many different kits, connectors, cables, etc, ... is anyone better (more usefull) than other? ... does any one have experience with them?, I appreciate your input!
  13. yes, my 08 Cayenne S had the same issue at 24K km, took to the MCL Motors (Vancouver PORSCHE)and I believe they had replaced housing sealant, o-ring, etc, pretty much ... all what the EGR58 describes in his post! ... all done under warranty of course, and the smell problem is gone.
  14. Any one knows if they (Durametric) have the code readers for 957 ??? ... I was browsing their site and I haven't found anything that relates to 957 models ???
  15. I have ceramic and they are great for stopping distances, etc, but when cold and driving (normally) in the city they make squeaking noise a lot! ... you got to press really hard severall times to warm them up and then they are quite!
