  1. I was wanting to remove the triangular pieces off the doors to paint them. Is there anything I need to look out for when removing them and where do I start? Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Regards Arthur
  2. I just got mine from Gert this afternoon with my PSS9 kit. The pedals look similar to the Ruf pedals but there are some minor differences. Ruf logo - obvious Foot Rest has a side plate Foot Rest is missing a line or two of rubber dots Personally I was going to buy the Ruf but as I ordered the PSS9 kit I just bundled the order with Gert. The difference for me was AUD$400 vs AUD$550. Not worth the extra 30% odd increase for a couple of rubber dots, mounting screw and logo. Regards Arthur hmmm tried to add an image but was not very successful.
  3. Thanks guys. TP - there is no chance I can try them unfortunately and this will probably mean I wont risk the change with the retro fit kit from NR MSINDI - I read the post where you mentioned the purchaser and that is what inspired me and the desire to change mine. Don - You are really making the decision tough!!!! Your cab just looks amazing. Absolutely love your interior. I am not too tall 5'11", mainly attributed to short legs. My upper torso is quite tall though. I just fit in the cab when the roof is up and I am in an upright position whilst driving. When I sit next to my mate who is 6'2" I am the same height. At the same time fairly broad in shoulders. But your car is soooooooooo nice with those seats. I think I will save my money and do other mods at the moment. Regards Arthur
  4. Don't worry Australia is not that far behind in charging! I must admit though, the installation of the PSS9 is costing me AUD$650. The shop doing it, runs a racing team so I have a bit of faith in their abilities. Also they are probably the 2nd largest Porsche shop in Melbourne. The largest would be the Porsche Centre itself. Regards Arthur
  5. Tool Pants, Do you know much about that kit? It looks rather interesting and possible solution ;) I will be giving them a call later on tonight if not first thing in the morning - a few hours time difference unfortunately. If I were to go down the porsche parts path, am I to assume there is quite a number of parts that form the seat back? Regards Arthur
  6. NTTY, I would have thought that the car would not drive too good after the installation? If I dont do an alignment will the steering not be a bit harsh/shaky? I can see how the car will settle beyond the initial setup height and how adjusting the height later would be the best option. A wheel alignment would not cost all that much in the grand scheme of things to do again. Thanks for the advice. Regards Arthur
  7. Thanks Don. I was hoping I can change just the seat backs. I do not believe it is a viable option to change the whole seat over. Especially with what it would cost to get them either locally or even from the US. Regards Arthur
  8. Is there anything I need to be aware of/ let the installer know when I get the kit done on Monday? Is there a prefered allignment setup for the 02 C2 Cabs? Sorry if this has been covered before. Regards Arthur
  9. I am wondering what it would take to convert a standard seat over to a sport seat. Is it possible to just replace the seat backs? The seat base does not look any different between the two units. Apart from that there does not seem to be any more room to have a wider seat base. The backs themselves look fantastic and I don't believe I have ever seen such a seat in an Australian delviered car. I must admit they do make the car look totally different internally even if their comfort functionality is not different to the standard seats they are a must next time round for me. Regards Arthur
  10. Kwsmith6, Does the HCB-30 come with decent wiring diagrams for the installation? Also how about the microphone? Where did you manage to install that? I am looking for a new phone and was interested in the setup you have. Regards Arthur ps sorry about the barrage of questions.
  11. Oalvarez, It seems that we are both on similar modification paths :D I have installed my PSE and receiving the PSS9 kit on tuesday for install on Wednesday. I am also pulling the console out for a paint job and thinking of doing a SS Kit install - provided the info I get about the kit is favourable. It is an amazing world of mods once you get the right information :D Regards Arthur
  12. Ok guys, can you tell me how different it is between the standard and the short shift? I am concerned it will make the shifting a bit too "notchy". Also how much more effort is required to change gears. Also, not sure where I read it, is there a chance of damaging the synchros in the car by doing the SS Kit? I have also read that by leaning on the gear shift can cause grief to the gear box? Is this also a myth? I will be pulling the centre console out for a paint job so I was contemplating doing the SS Kit at the same time. Your information of this would be greatly appreciated. Regards Arthur ps I now wish I had never made contact with these forums :D It is costing me a fortune with all these changes to the toys!
  13. my996, I paid USD$575.00 for the GT3 side skirts fron Brandywine Porsche. They even shipped them to me in Australia - the shipping did kill me a bit but I had a bunch of other stuff with it too. Give Justin a call he is quite good. What I normally do is send him an email detailing what I want with prices of the goods I am willing to pay/received quotes on and he has so far managed to meet all my prices. His details are: jlane@brandywineporsche.com and telephone is 610-886-1000 I do not benefit in anyway with you dealing with him, I have just found him to be great. He was recommended to me by someone on rennlist and have stuck with him since. Regards Arthur
  14. Tony, thanks for the tips! I have not checked the mounting gear out so I will do that sooner rather than later. Luckily its summer here at the moment and with the hot weather black is great for warming up pretty quickly so I doubt I will need the hair dryer but a great idea though :) Regards Arthur
  15. Tony, How did you go with the DIY. Did you stumble across any issues to look out for? The car looks great job well done! Regards Arthur
  16. Don, Would love to see pictures once it is done. I was contemplating doing the same thing with mine but was not sure if the AS would be too much in a black interior or I should do it in Basalt Black and have the side vents in Basalt Black too. It is a shame you cannot get the side bents in black with AS slats (well thats what I was told anyway). I prefer that look over the full AS vent unit. Hopefully you will change my mind :) Regards Arthur
  17. Tony, Post some pictures of your car. I have mine in the paint shop as we speak but would love to visualise the final result :D Regards Arthur ps Loren, you talk about the gap between body and side skirt being 1/16". Even at that gap you can get water or dirty water down there. This is probably not too good for the double sided tape I'd assume. Is it ok to put silastic (spelling - In Oz silastic is a black sticky compound used to put in windscreens.) along the top to seal it? I have a basalt black black and dont believe you would notice its presence.
  18. Loren, They are the newer Aerokit II Regards Arthur
  19. I was wondering if anyone had instructions of how to install the GT3 side skirts? I received mine last Monday and getting them painted this week. I was going to get the panel shop to do them with me but I have no idea (nor do they) where to start with there. I did a quick look through the DIY/How to section for instructions but was unsuccessful, so I apologise if they are already posted somewhere on here. Any information would be greatly appreciated TIA Arthur
  20. ZX7R - Well the funny thing is that the person I was speaking to was an overseas dealer and not a local one. The mistake I made was that I mentioned I can get the kit locally for USD$3975.00 so that might have been what made him come back with a price of $3800.00. ZX7R if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for X74 Kit and how much did it lower your car overall? Also how do you find the ride? Is it too stiff for daily driving and how different do you find it over the standard setup? Loren - You calling me fat  .......................... Only kidding, that makes sense :) . It's funny because the dealer originally mentioned that the PSS9 kit was $2500 and he can do considerably better since I have just bought a fair amount of goods from them. If only the Euro was a better conversion against the AUD. Regards Arthur ps Loren - fantastic site, it makes great reading and very helpful for mods (and dangerous to the bank balance)
  21. I have just finished off a conversation with a sale person who tells me there is a difference between the LHD and RHD PSS9 setup. I personally cannot see how that is the case? I am a mere IT Consultant and not an automotive specialist, but I didn't think the PSS9 kit had the shocks labeled as left and right fitting units? Apart from that, what other differences could there realistically be. If there was a difference between the left and right hand units surely they would just be installed in reverse order ie Left hand shock to Right hand if the car is a RHD or am I making this too logical and its more sophisticated than that? Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I want to order soon and if the sales person is correct I wont be ordering from the States or even from Gert. Confused Arthur
  22. Thanks for the info. ____________________ ArthurK 996 '02 C2 Cab
  23. Is there a way of retro fitting the park assist function to the 996. I am assuming that the rear bumper would need replacing to begin with beyond that is it possible to run the appropriate wiring to install this option? Also was park assist ever available for the front bumper? _________________________ ArthurK 996 '02 C2 Cab
  24. Hi all, I would like to confirm the following part numbers please: Central Locking Switch - 996 613 143 10 A05 (I believe this is for the Left Hand Side of Console, I need it for the Right Hand Side) Spoiler Switch - 996 613 156 10 A05 (Is this correct for Right Hand Side of Console?) Porsche Sports Exhaust - 000 044 200 19 (I assume this comes with the wiring harness? Does it also come with the switch?? if not see below) PSE Switch - ???? (I need this for Right Hand Side of console) I am about to order the PSE and wanted to do few more mods at the same time. Also having a Right Hand Drive vehicle means I only have blanks on the Right Hand Side of my centre console. Thanks for your assistance in advance and love the amount of technical information available on the forums. ___________________ ArthurK 996 '02 Cab
