  1. Not sure how you can dream of Porsche all your life and then get a Cayenne as your first? They hardly represent the traditional values of the brand. That aside I've just bought an MY05 turbo that I had a dealer check over before purchase. He missed a lot of problems so make sure you don't rely on others to check things and don't assume the headlights work etc. (i.e. turn them on during test drive etc)
  2. Thanks. Any idea of the part number for the 2 button version UK/Euro frequencies please? Blank or order by VIN (the part numbers are different)? Blank remote only please as I can transfer the blade from my broken unit. Have been given a price of 200 GBP approx for full key by VIN. Thanks for any assistance. For a blank key with: I5D1 Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz I4F2 porsche entry + drive I4K3 Central-locking system with key remote, interior operation and "Safe" mode 955.637.244.24.01C Blank key in satin black -- US MSRP $128.25 Just had a thought - my car doesn't have 4F2 option. If I order this key, is it wrong? I have the other 2 options.
  3. Is there a list of version numbers available so I can see how uptodate my unit is? It's on an MY05 car and shows the following info: version 3.1 PCM - 05024BD1/1705 SYSTEM - 04304AD1/3004 NAV - 00174412 PHONE - 0002.22R/1803 nav disk 08/2005 Is there a way I can get hold of the update CDs if it isn't the latest? Thanks for any help, Dan

How do I verify that is the correct frequency? Also do they all support entry+drive as I don't have that option so don't need a key supporting it? Dan Check your cars options list. I5D1 = Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz I5D2 = Carrier frequency 315 MHz I5D3 = Carrier frequency 315 MHz with reduced transmission power for Japan Thanks - option list has 5D1 on it so I think that must be the right part you listed. Sure beats paying 350USD for a key to vin!

  8. One of my remotes doesn't work and won't start the car although the key is cut correctly. Dealer said they can only supply a new key at 400 USD approx. Can I just order this remote part and move the blade over and get them to code it? Also how do I disassemble the key without breaking it? Thanks for any advice, would be very pleased not to spend 400 on it!
  9. Any idea what could be wrong? I put the SIM in and it recognises the provider, but never manages to actually find a signal even after 30 mins. I'm wondering if its an aerial problem and where I should be checking? Thanks for any assistance.
  10. I don't think it is the latch as the other lights come on when I open that door. Does anyone know how to remove the light without damaging anything? Might just be something loose...
  11. Yeah it doesn't come on at all with any door unlike the other side. Dealer recommends just fitting a new unit...
  12. Just bought a 2nd hand my05 turbo and one of the rear courtesy lights doesn't come on when I open the door. It works when I toggle the switch to the side into the always on position, but in the middle position where it should come on as a courtesy light it doesn't. Any ideas what could be wrong?
  13. For future reference, I am told the tuner is analogue only.
  14. Anyone know if the TV tuner on a UK spec car is analogue only, or analogue + digital? Thanks, Dan
  15. Wow, so MY05 starts mid 04. When people say buy an 05 car, they mean MY05 right, so in fact cars from mid 04 are fine...
  16. Thanks Loren. The car I looked at was delivered sept 04 and 05 model year.
  17. When is the first build date for the apparently better 05 cars? Is the PCM sat nav being DVD a guaranteed way of knowing it is an 05 car?
  18. I've already got GT3 seats in my GT3, but I'm mounting a harness in the passenger side. I know the seat bolts are 65nm and no threadlock, but does anyone know what the correct torque is for the lap belt mounts, and also the sub strap bar? Do these need threadlock, and if so which? Thanks, Dan
