  1. I have a '99 996 with 21,000 miles. The passenger side door window quit working and it's stuck in the down position. I swapped the switch connections and the passenger side operates the driver's side, so it isn't the switch. The fuse is for both windows so that eliminates that. I'm reluctant to take the door panel off until I have an idea of where the problem lies because of the side air bag.
  2. I have a '99 C2 with 19,500 miles. Recently, ignition would not go to zero position and key got stuck. Go the key out, reinserted, started the car and the starter didn't disengage for a few seconds. Replaced the electrical portion of the switch and now the panel lights up but starter doesn't turnover. I read on this forum where someone found a VW replacement switch. Anyone have a part number or VW year/model or any other ideas? Or do I need to help Pioneer Porsche pay the rent?
  3. You may already know this site, but it has a list of codes and also sells Auto Tap PC or Palm software for reading your OBDII codes. $200 for either plus cable for $20. http://www.obdii.com/codes.html
  4. Thanks for the info. I'll check the codes and find someone/someplace with the OBDII reader. Hate to schlep to the dealer and waste a day if it is an easy fix.
  5. Check engine light came on in my 99 C2 with 18,700 miles. I did the usual gas cap and oil filler cap dance but light is still on. Any ideas? Only problem this car has had is two airbag light fixes.
