  1. Berty987, Thanks so much for your reply. I just checked and my software is 1.0 PCM info is: Target: / Actual 04202JD1 / 3004 Entered: Yes Found: Yes System Software Target: / Actual: 04113AD1 / 1104 Entered: Yes Found: Yes In this menu the top three items (System , PCM , Amplifier) all have Warning Triangles listed. The Nav item has a check mark. Does this confirm that the PCM was installed improperly or that the software revision is old / it's a refurbished unit? Thanks again, STS
  2. I had the imfamous PCM Eats CD Syndrome. I took the car to my dealer and it has been replaced. Now the CD player will not recognize my existing MP3 CDs. Is there a possibility that the CD-Player in this PCM head unit is of an older generation? Perhaps there's a change I can make to the way I create CDs? Obviously, I'd be quite disappointed if I'm not going to be able to play MP3 CDs anymore. I am hoping that there's a change or setting I'm missing rather than what I suspect: PCNA / my dealer sent the wrong / old PCM head unit over. I don't have that much confidence as the techs wiped my stored locations after I told them to back that info up. They said it wasn't possible. Thanks in advance, STS
  3. Okay, do you know if they replace everything, and if that means you loose your stored addresses for NAV? Thanks again!
  4. Hi, my in-dash CD Player is acting up, it's been hot the past couple of days, so I'm wondering if it's heat related, but when I turned it on, I got the error unable to read CD. I tried ejecting an MP3 disc I made and it wouldn't eject. Only after a power off and back on of the car did it eject. I inserted a regular CD and the same error. This time it took much longer to get the CD out. Ideas? Thanks!
  5. That's an awesome resource. Thanks so much. Guess I have a Sunday project to get started on! Best regards, Scott
  6. So I was taking my brother-in-law out somewhere for a spin. Wound up needing to go to an industrial park area, truck moving towards me at a brisk pace, so I moved in tight as I made the turn. Quick rub and caught the passenger rear wheel lip. Some scuffing to the wheel. I don't want to take the wheel off the car and send it somewhere, but is there anything simple that you can do yourself to fix this while on the car" TIA, Scott
  7. Will, See to me 50K for a garage with the amenities I want seems reasonable. I was looking at commerical real estate and it's insane in my area for a building. I'm thinking I could kill 2 birds with one stone here. The 2 car idea may not be a bad way to go. I believe I have the room. I need to meet with an architect, and was hoping i could do this in phases, say shell first so that I could have a place to put the 3rd car, and then build out the upstairs in a year or so... Thanks to everyone for your comments...
  8. Hi, I'm not sure where to post this, but I'm beginning to feel the need to build a separate detached (dual purpose) garage / office. See I work out of my home and would like to have something separate so that the dog barking, baby crying, etc. doesn't disturb phone calls, etc... I also have 2 cars, my wife has 1 and we currently have a 2 car garage. My thoughts were to build a single car garage (over-sized) with a deep back for outdoor storage and have an upstairs for my office and a small media room. Has anyone undertaken something such as this? I am completely clueless, and would love to see pictures of what you've done. Originally I was thinking of doing lifts, etc. but I don't think my needs are for doing that kind of maintenance on the car, just clean, safe place to wax, stare at and enjoy... Thanks for your advice and info.. Scott
  9. I'm thinking of getting the Durametric tool, one question though: can you use this to open up the options available in the Chrono package? There are some settings I'd love to change, but I didn't see mention beyond OBC. wondering if that's the part of the OBC they're talking about... :-)
  10. Excellent, will do. Hate the idea of having to take it back in so soon, but maybe they can tackle it while I wait? Thanks again, Scott
  11. Hi, I'm the new owner of an 07 997 C4. Purchased on Friday, have just broken 100 miles and after a little bit of driving on rough pavement, I'm now noticing some creaking and (not heavy or loud) clunking. Car is a C4 with 19" Sport wheels. None of the TSBs specifically mention the 4s, so I'm not entirely sure that it's the same issue. I do notice the sound whether I move forward or backward slightly and brake on the driveway in addition to regular driving over uneven surfaces. Thanks in advance!
  12. Thanks, looks like a good number of parts and labor. Think it's do-able for a mechanically-inclined owner? Thanks
  13. Right, I'm looking to add the telephone module to a car that has PCM, but no telephone module. Is it possible? Thanks again.
  14. Loren, Are you aware of anyone who sells an installation kit to just add option 666 to a car with PCM but without the telephone module? Thanks, STS
