  1. nope, but actually when I slipped out the white piece it was only hooked to the lock on the other end, so clearly is a spring or lever on the lock. Don't know if the issue is on the lock or iin this lever...
  2. In my case it seems to be something mechanical, not (just) the micro switches. The white cable in nylon in the pic that triggers the door lock, doesn’t go all the way back. There’s something like a ¼” missing. Actually the handle inside is that loose as well. If you either push the handle or the cable, the window will go up those ¼”. I removed the door panel and foam inside and only lubricated the cable in both ends checking that it went back more smoothly but clearly not perfect so when I set up everything again, it was all the same with the loose handle, window not going all the way up and the two horns. I did not disassemble the lock as you said that thin/strong fingers are required and I was not confident that I could get everything back in shape again (but the fact is that I was almost there!). Assuming that there’s at least some mechanical issue (maybe with the micros-witches as well) I was wondering if: 1// You recommend that I do disassemble the lock and either a) try to clean/grease any spring or lever in the lock if you think that’s going to help, or b) mount a new lock, that I assume is this http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Inf...015-C-M100.htm or... 2// take it to the official dealer and assume the cost? Any hint will be highly appreciated!
  3. sorry for answering so late, it's the european continental holiday seasson here... :D that's the new beltronics radar detector, that's why I need to easily cut-off radar power directly from my dashboard, not any hidden switch down there... B)
  4. I'm considering as well the 996-613-980-06-A05 *** MAT 2002- FOOTWELL LIGHTING that according to the (small) description that I've found seems to be "closer to a pure switch", right? Any schematic draft will be more than appreciatted. best.
  5. first of all, sorry for posting a doubt in the DIY area rather than a "solution" but you will certainly be able to answer and once solver I do think this is the right place to post it (if not, I kindly request modetarators to change it). I want to put a power switch in the horseshow below the PSM (in the left). I actually got the 996-613-987-10-A05 MAT COUPE/TARGA SPORT EXHAUST but could not turn it into a "real switch" as I found no scheme for the 5 connectors that it has. Couple of questions there: 1. to which connectors should I connect the sti-r pos cable to alternatively swith it on and off??? 2. Providing that it has a led, is there any way to light the led when off? Thanks in advance :renntech:
  6. Anybody aware of this new detector? seems to be available in continental europe but found no place in the US for the time being... Seems to be much better than 975 thx
  7. Sorry if this requires a different topic... I own a '95 996 C4S equipped with PCM II. If I recall well, sw version is 3.0.3, so it's probably updated. Now, I understand there's probably a new version for the data from NavTeq that I could get but the issue is: I want to pinpoint all known radar monitored spots. Have you done anything like that on a bulk import mode, not on a one to one basis? is there any interface to do it? thx
