  1. Excuse me if this is elsewhere butbI didn't see it.

I am getting a dead battery once a week and the battery, alternator and cables check out ok.  I noticed that when I turn the headlights on the a/c will turn on compressor and fan to max and if I turn the fan down it will again climb right back up on its own.

    Any help guys?

  2. I have a convertible and when I had similar wing problem ( one side not going up) putting the top down and up didn't help orncleae code.   PST2 or PIWIS 2 and 3 would clear code.  I decided to remove wingandnhydrilic system and send to Cabriolet Hydrolics in Sarasota FL and 1 week and $740 later I got the entire system back looking brand new.  Once installed it now works great and has 3 year warranty.

Highly recommend Cabriolet Hydrolics for top or wing hydrilic system repair.

  3. I was looking for a little extra for this year's Rennsport Dragon Rally.  I think the extra power will make-up jn the straights what I lose in the curves to all the guys with all the electronic assists and blind mountain curve driving experience

  4. Just an update.  996/986/996TT gear shift bracket is now Porsche suggested retail $482.00

I had valet crush the front plastic bushing and Porsche still doesn't sell just a bushing and neither does Evo anymore it seems.   But I found a reasonable solution as shown in other photo. Phenix makes aluminum replacement bushings for $70/pair.  Easy installation and works great.  I bet never a crushed bushing again.

Just a note for people with spoiler hydraulic problems. Just found on the net a guy in Florida that fix the hydraulic unit. If anyone ever used them please post your result....http://cabriolethydraulics.com/porsche-carrera-hydraulics.phphttp://cabriolethydraulics.com/porsche-carrera-hydraulics.php

I sent my rear spoilen hydrolic system  ( both rams, hydrolic pump and lines)  to Cabriolet Hydrolics 10 days ago and today I received the parts back.  I'll install tomorrow and edit this and post results.  I installed the rebuilt set last week.  They charged the shop $740 total to rebuild.  Works great and all original factory parts and look.

Hey I figure I can have them rebuilt 3 times for cost of the electric rams and this way it looks as it did out the factory

  6. I had to use the inflatable spare tire last weekend and now got the replacement tire installed.  The problem/question I've removed as much of the air in the spare and replaced the belts around it to shrink it a bit further but the spare still won't fit as it did horizontally on the floor of the "frunk"

  7. I bought a LCD replacment screen from Vertex auto and installed it myself.using the online instructions and watching a similar video.

It took less than 20 minutes and while the images are a little different now it works better ( when I had directed air-to-air blow down or at passengers I would get small to windshield and it would fog up.   Not anymore. )

I've attached before and after photos

  8. Keep the car.  It looks like the 996 and 996 Turbo values have reached bottom last year and are appreciating at a nice pace.  There are a few examples I found this past weekend from $60,000 to $78,000 and one admittedly redicilous example asking $99,000 but thats HUGE compared to 2 years ago when a clean carfax 6 speed could be picked up occasionally for $35,000 to $45,000

  9. I saw that Rennsport is organizing 2 Dragon Tail runs this year. The first is June 4-6th and then again October 22-24th. I am in Miami Beach and was thinking of going and wondering if others from S Fla are going and if you are driving there or sending your car and if been before....

I thought if a few of us are going and either drive together if one has a problem.. or even if enough of us to fill a car carrier we could set exact dates of pickup, delivery and return of our cars plus a better rate of the car carrier...

    So who's going and
