Hi Paul
They are standard shocks on mine. I've bought them from the dealer. Only thing is, how easy are they to fit?
Cheers
-
As title really. Does anybody know what make they are and also how to do the job?
Cheers
-
Is this an easy job guys?
My car has the prep from the factory, I689.
Cheers

So basically the 997 is just adjusted via the rear discs through one of the bolt holes ?
Yes, there are brake shoes inside the hub.
Do you need to not have the handbrake applied when adjusting? No, the hand brake should be fully released when adjusting. After proper adjustment the brakes should stop the wheel from spinning at 3 clicks of the handbrake.
I have got 7 clicks on my handbrake until it wont move.
So, basically just jack up, wheels off and make sure handbrake is released. Then maybe tighten 5 clicks each side and then apply handbrake?
Which was is tighten when you look at the wheel, is it clockwise?
Thanks Loren

Morning Guys,
I am aware of the two ajusters behind the rear discs but what is the actual procedure for doing this job?

Cheers boys. I'll post a pic when completed. I think the black 911 emblem goes far better on the back than the Carrera one.
-
Thanks boys for the tips. What about measurements etc, dont want it looking stupid !
-
Well finally got her back last Friday, £1100 lighter !. Good job done though.
All the things you guys mentioned were checked and are fine. Thanks for all who contributed.
Next up is replacing the engine emblem with the '911' badge !
I've already posted up a question on best practice.
:thankyou:

Hi
I'd like to remove the Carrera badge and replace with a '911' badge. What is the best way to remove the original badge and what measurements do I need to replace it with the '911' badge?
Cheers Guys :thankyou:

Hi guys
My car is a September 2006.
The car is in the workshop now and the technicians are going to check both RMS & IMS.
Fingers crossed all will be ok.

Hi
Car has 36k on it. I thought the gearbox oil would have been drained off to access the transmission?
As I say I have little knowledge in this area.
Thanks for any help.
-
Curious really. I realise the actual clutch will be changed, just starting to slip now so I have caught it early, but what else? Gearbox oil ?? Other bits ??
-
I'm going to attempt this myself.
Does anybody know where their are any instructions online?
Also, what make of pads would you guys recommend?. I'll be using the car on road and occassionally tracking it.
Any help appreciated.

Hi
My car doesn't have the phone prep and with having an iPhone I would like to be able to use it.
What system would you guys recommend for my phone?

Thanks Paul for the info. So is the unit held in from above within the glovebox? Unsure really.
How can I get access to these drawings? They are very handy.

I have tried for several hours to remove this. I've looked underneath in the glove box where the storage system is and there are two holes but when I insert a tool I cant feel anything.
I know the box is made by Fischer and called a C-Box.
I've even taken the cup holders out and still no joy.
Any help appreciated.

I had a misfire on mine after a wash and figured that a coil pack had failed. I replaced all 6 and now the car is fine.
Coil packs are a common failure on our cars
-
Got them, thanks guys.
With washing the engine yesterday the misfire is still there.
Do you think I should take the coil packs/plugs out and dry them off ?
-
Hi Paul
Thanks for the reply.
I've been under and can't see them. Are they near to the back boxes or in the middle toasted rear of car?
Thanks

I need to pick up a permanent live and a ground from the back of the PCM. Does anybody know the colourings?
Is the Red Yellow: Live, Brown: Ground ?
