  3. I was washing my 2000 996 Coupe the other day, and noticed a trickle of water running down the inside of the left rear quarter window (oh, great!). I pushed / tapped firmly on the glass to see if it was loose, and sure enough it made a tapping sound when I pressed hard. There's obviously some play between the window and gasket. First thought is that the window seal must have gotten old and hard, and needs replaced. After pricing inner and outer seals on automotion's website, I'm hoping I don't need to replace multiple gaskets. Maybe there's an easy fix - maybe just reseat the window? I've never installed a window before, so I'm not sure it's something I should attempt. I'm 3 hours from the closest dealer, so I'm wondering if a typical auto glass shop would be up to the task, or if these quarter window seals are something to be left to the dealer only. I read Loren's post about how to remove the window, but I'm not sure how hard it is to re-install, and how to tell if a seal needs replaced. Any input is welcome. Thanks! Vernon
