  2. You will have to drop the engine to remove the oil cooler as the side tin, back tin and air guide have to be removed to remove the cooler. Kurt
  3. I would recommend a 10W40 semi syntheic but not a full syntheic oil as your vehicle was never designed to run with those oils. We use Lurbo Moly here in the shop and have found it to work well. Kurt
  4. Sounds like you forgot to drain the oil tank.... Start again by draining both the engine oil sump and the oil Tank, let them sit with the drain plugs out for a couple of hours. Then refil the engine with 9qts of oil. The engine is going to smoke when you start it up, don't worry about this as it will clear after 30 to 40 minutes of run time.... You have not caused any other damage and the reason that this happens is that when you overfill the crankcase,the scavage pump can't get rid of the oil back to the tank as it keeps coming back in though the vent hoses, the oil in the crankcase is then hydrulic'ed past the rings into the combustion chamber casuing the smoke.   5. Louis, On the 87 carrera the seat belt warning light is controled by the seat belt warning module/relay that is located in the front trunk area, left sides just behind the gas hood strut. Most likely you have a loose contact in the relay or the seat switch that is triggering the relay to turn the light on, or a bad ground connection of which there are three located in the front Trunk. I would check and clean my ground connections first, if there are good I would go to the relay next, pull it out and shake it, if you hear someting rattling around then it is most likley the problem. The relay is tied into the power windows and the intenisve washer system, so if you leave it out those systems will not operate. However the european vehicles do not use the seat belt warning system so you can confirure your car to not use this feture by removing the relay and installing two jump wires in the socket. The first jump wire will go between terminals "L" and "G" and the next wire will jump terminals "86" and "31"..... Hope this helps PS: one last thing; it is also possible that the seat belt warning switch is also defective ethier wy deactivating the system will solve you issue, if you need my help shoot me an email and I will see what I can do Kurt Porschetechnik
