  1. Extremely helpful. Is there any technical literature available for public consumption? If not, this is a great start.
  2. Dear All I have been searching for some time and have not had much luck - I am looking for material on the Porsche 9A1 engine architecture, and in particular technical write ups on the 2.9l engine. I keep reading how it has fewer parts and built for reliability, but trying to the bottom of the why? What is the design about this engine that makes it 'superior' to a 2.7l engine and what has changed. Any guidance would be most appreciated, just very curious about the engine construction and the particular evolution of the engine from its predecessor. Best M.
  3. I have a 2010 boxster. purchased a used hardtop - harder to find but you save considerably off MSRP. Here are the big issues (1) You need to install a hardtop mounting kit. This is not an easy job on 987s - takes a couple of hours and at least two individuals as your convertible top has to be partially removed to insert the bolts. (2) once the hardtop is mounted takes some time to adjust it (3) it squeaks and rattles - after several adjustments made some of the squeaks go away, but still rattles on rough terrain. All in labour costs are going to be high. The 987 soft top is of extremely high quality - would recommend waterproofing it before the cold season and not bothering with the hardtop. however the car does look very good with a hardtop on, but i do not think it is worth the hassle. This is my opinion.
