  1. I know that it is now more than a year ago, since the last post on this subject but I was playing with the ME5.2.2 today on my bench and can confirm the following worked for me: +12v = pins 26 AND 56 (Important to connect both to + -12v = pin 28 (This could be any ground connector, such as 27 though) L-Line = pin 87 (Probably not needed as it's for older cars only, but it was on the Porsche diagram I saw, so I connected it anyway.) K-Line = pin 88 I used a Galletto cable for my test and downloaded a binary dump from the DME, so it all worked fine for me. One point to note is that I use a proper Lab supply to give 13.5v DC on my workbench, for performing ECU stuff. Here is a photo of an ME5.2.2 with the pinouts shown:
  2. Hi, I'm trying to find out what a clone PIWIS (With KTS520) can and can't do. I have a similar Mercedes Star system and the only real problem there is that it can't update the central Mercedes database via the internet (No Mercedes subscription, of course) so any trip to a Mercedes dealer after components have been added with the Chinese STAR system would vanish and need to be either re-coded by the dealer or added again by myself. I realise that lack of updates will be one difference, but to be quite honest, I only deal with Porsches which are more than a couple of years old anyway and the newer Porsche cars already require the new system anyway.
  3. Any update on this? Thanks He ultimately only made one and I bought it from him when he sold his car last year. I intended on using it when I upgraded my stereo system, but ultimately changed my mind and it has been sitting on a shelf in my garage ever since. I've been meaning to post it for sale so someone could get some use from it. If anyone is interested in it, let me know. What sort of price are you looking for, if you still have it?
