  1. When your battery is low on charge the ancillaries won't come on until it is charged back up to a certain level, which it will do after a minute or two of driving. Either you've got an excessive draw on your battery when your Cayenne is parked or your battery needs replacing or both. Usually it's just the battery.
  2. Make sure you hear and feel a solid "click" when you turn the tool to lock the headlight in place. If you don't the connectors won't make proper contact.
  3. 1st series V8 Cayennes can have cylinder scoring issues which means a new engine. Don't go by your friend's hunch and scope that engine! You don't want to make a $20,000 mistake! My recollection of rod bearings is a ticking when not under load. A loud knocking sounds like big bucks on one of these engines. There are plenty 955 Cayennes out there.
  4. Would a worn second battery kill the main battery over time? I've got a battery drain on the main battery that I've replaced twice. I've never replaced (or tested) the second battery and my Cayenne's a 2004.
  5. Looks like it might be Waxoil or some other cavity protectant? Had similar looking stuff drip out of my Passat years ago and it was protectant. Hard to say from a picture though.
