  1. 3 x sets built Aug plus set supplied on car built June 07 They are unchanged in pattern and wear rate. Great when hot and dry ,terrible when cold or with standing water ,actually in such conditions they are leathal. Just ordered 2 sets o custom made 18" wheels (to fit over PCCB) We will now run the Kuhmo V70A 245 x 35 x 18 and 305 x 30 x 18. I have also ordred a set of 335 x 30 x 18 BUT not sure if they will fit. However the car will now be quicker bu a couple of secs on a 3km trach and have good dry and wet weather performance. Reason for 18", I have been informed it will be some time before true soft rubber will be available in 19" RS sizes, by some time I mean a couple of years. To remain competitive we had to go to 18". The wheels are HRE custom cup wheels made exclusively by GMG Racing in California. Got to say I am really impressed by there knowledge. Hve also purchase a custom Moton damper and spring kit from them . Have done away with PASM.
  2. Here is a photo of the tire sizes/model. - If this isn't enough, let me know & I'll get a better pic for posting. ...There is a mark which states (in quotes): "(102Y) NO" but nowhere can I find any reference to either "System" or "Race" I'll look further into the tire warranty materials tonight & let you know if I find anything else. Thank you so much you have confirmed what I suspected and the Pirelli factory have denied I will order some straight away, the Michelins are to hard for competition unless conditions are very hot. The Pirelli's are softer, The Michelin have a wear rate of 80 the Pirelli have a rate of 60 Pirelli are much better in the wet the Michelin are a terrible wet and coldweather tyre and I would be very very very careful using them !!!! I have mislead you just discovered these tyrs in the picture are Sysem Tyres , they are a great road tyre with soft compound BUT not good as a track tyre there wear rateing is aroud 120 so are substantaillt harder than the Michelin and Pirelli Corsa race I think thoug for every day use a s a high performance tyre they are great.
  3. if you really want the best GT3RS exhausts look at the cargraphic KIT 5 and KIT 6 I can confirm the huge torque and HP gains are understated

  5. I am most interested in what tyres have been fitted to your car , are they the Pirelli Corsa Race or the Pirelli Corsa System Also what size are they omn the rear, 305 x 30 x19 or 295 x 30 x 19 ??
  6. I have a 997RS and do not know of any difference in the seats from Clubsport GT3 and RS. I would be surprised if there is and diff as thet cost a fortune as an option on the "touring GT3"
  7. Loren when I first got my GT3 996 I recall that the Factory workshop manual gave 2 settings for suspension settings ,1 for road use and 1 for competition. These settings were good as a base line for further adjustment to suit the conditions and driver. Now I have a GT3RS 997 I wonder if you could inform me if there is similar data regarding settings and how obtains such information. Thanking you in anticipation
  8. Thanks for the heads up on the Hoozier BUT I would prfer the Michelin Sport Cups for the dry and unfortunately the Hoozier wets are only in 18'' I understand however that Pirelli are about to start making the 305x30x19 in the Corsa R . I cannot wait as they are a superior wet tyre. Thanks again
  9. please find attached image as requested
  10. I have what you need email me at summersp@bigpond.com and I will send attachment
  11. Ok I am taking delivery of my Green RS in August and as it is to be used for tarmac allying immediately on arrival I have ordered extra wheels, belts, ignition switch.4.0/1 final drive and 40/60 diff options. As most of this is to be fitted by Porche in Australia it has been all preordered and arrived at the dealership last week. I went to have alook at the front roll cage and noticed it was not colour coded as per the fitted cage in the rear of the car. I have been told this is standard and customers have to have the front half coloured themselves. This to me is ridiculous ,has anybody else had this experience ????
  12. In competition as a rule your tyres when hot should equal the recommended road pressures provided by the manufacturer. This applies to 18" and 19" "r" spec tyres such as fitted to the GT3 997. 32 PSI Front and 39 PSI would be an appropriate pressure for regular use when cold and this pressuers should be maintained as a "hot" pressure during competition. For road use when "wet" using the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups I suggest increasing the PSI to 35 Front and 43 Rear .
  13. I am just about to take delivery of my 3rd GT3 which is a 997 RS , The cars are used for Tarmac Rallying in Australia. Problem : currently in Aus there are no "R" spec tyres suitable for use in competition that will fit the rear of the GT3 or RS (305/30ZR 19). The standard tyres are not suitable for competition as they are hybrid compounds and to "hard" for fast competition use. Does anybody have details of a competition tyre that will suit and where I can buy them from. They must be "DOT" approved for road use. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Hi everybody a new member from Australia. I have found this site really informative especially the info from Loren re 04 suspension alignment settings. I compete in Tarmac rallys and have used both MK 1 and now a MK 2 Gt3. I have just decided to change the final drive to the 4.0 / 1 as it makes the car far more driveable and much quicker in acceleration. My MK1 had this conversion and I do recommend it unless you use your cars to cross the country. I need some help however regarding the clutch. I recently fitted the Cup clutch (puck type ) and matching flywheel. The car however is now not nice to drive as the clutch has no springs and shudders on slow engagements as this type does tolerate any slippage. I want to keep the flywheel but change the clutch for a more forgiving type. The problem is the RS or MK1 CS type does not match to the flywheel as the contact face on the Cup flywheel is about 70% of the std single mass flywheel as it is suited for the puck type clutch and is much lighter than the RS type. Does anybody know where I can get a performance clutch that is more forgiving but matches the Cup flywheel. Please help if you can oherwise I will have to go to a complete RS kit.
