    Thanks RFM. My stock lug bolts are sort of "dingy" looking and I tried powder coating them but even with a soft socket, they still chip. Just wondering about another alternative but you bring up very valid points I hadn't thought of. Thx.

    Have an 08C2S and was wondering about any pros or cons on the stainless steel and/or titanium lug bolts being offered for sale. Any known issues with running them and the torque value changing over time when driving with them? Thx,

    Interesting note for those who have cars with a CPO warranty. My TPMS light just came on and the tire pressure checked manually was fine. Stopped by my local independent shop,and the computer said my left front sensor was "gone". Considered buying all 4 replacements but then the owner said "check with your local dealer as they may be covered under your CPO". Called and sure enought they are covered so he saved me a nice amount of money.

    You might check out the Fister D system. I had those until I changed over to the OEM PSE system. The louder sound with Fister D unfortunately annoyed my wife, "it's too loud". Now the PSE can be engaged when she is not in the car and I can enjoy it:-)

    Themo, you can tell very easily if you have PSE by simply looking at the tailpipes. If they are the same diameter and when you look insde them you see only one pipe from underneath entering the tailpipe, that is a stock exhaust (all based on the assumption your car still has the OEM system). On the OEM PSE, you will still have twin tailpipes on each side but the outer pipe is larger in diameter than the inside pipe. When you look inside the tailpipe, you will see two pipes entering the tailpipe from underneath instead of just one. When I push the "sport" button on my 08C2S, there is a definite change in tone and it is deeper in sound than the stock OEM system. pix of OEM PSE tailpipes.

    on the "other" forum, there is a discussion about the lug nut torque value going from 96 ft. lbs. to 116 ft. lbs. This supposedly incudes earlier 997's not just 2012 as mentioned in their listing. Anybody heard about this change by Porsche? I've always used 96 ft. lbs. and when rechecking them on occasion, didn't find any that had loosened up. Just wondering......

    Martin, I don't know if the 997.1 is different from the 997.2 on installation in this area but I believe there is a DIY article on this forum for intalling the PSE (as I downloaded it to print) and I think there are instructions on getting to this area. Might check it out.

    Very true brendel and, my wife thinks the car is "noisy" in the quiet mode. Oh well, I'll leave her to her Prius :jump:

    The nice thing about the OEM PSE though is that you can control the "noise". When my wife is in the car, i leave it in the quiet mode. When she is not, I push the "Sport" button and have my "noise. Ordered with the car is/was about $2500+. Added on after the fact is about $3000+. Since my 08C2S didn't have it originally, I bought my PSE cans off of eBay for $900 including the PSE tips. I bought the install package (wiring, etc.) from Sunset Porsche for about $360 and did the install myself. FWIW......

    Mijostyn, Did you get your new tires w/sensors mounted yet? Just curious on the outcome.

    Let us know how it goes Mijostyn once you get them mounted and you actually just drive off to activate them. For the price, it seems pretty reasonable. Mine have never been replaced (08C2S) and i have heard they may last up to 6 years or more before being replaced. I too like the TPMS monitoring system with just a flick of the wrist to see where you are at on pressure. I've heard of some people removing them but I don't like that idea for more than one reason..

    That's good to know Mijostyn. Not knowing too much about these devices, i was wondering if they were "real" or Memorex (anyone remember that commercial). Glad you saved a couple of $$.

    Mijostyn, My Super Sports are too new to compare to the Pirelli P-Zero tires but they seem to handle fine. I'll have to wait until the winter months to see how they are in the wet but don't hold your breath as not too much rain here in southern california. Didn't know or think about rotating from side to side. Thanks for that advise.

    I had the Pirelli P Zero Rosso on my 08C2S and got 14000 miles out of them. The last 2000 miles or so they got extremely noisy to the point I thought I had a bearing issue or something. Asked the same thing on what to buy here and most suggested the Pilot Super Sports so that is what I went with. Very quiet tires which I like. Not N rated but dealer was honest and said same thing as log ray that it wouldn't really be a problem even though my car is still covered by CPO. Wouldn't buy P Zeros again if you gave them to me free. I got my Super Sports thru Tire Rack and had them shipped to my work and then mounted and balanced locally.

    I too have run many clear bras on several of my cars over the past 10+ years. On my 08C2S, I've had it on for several years and it is almost invisible taken care of properly as Mijostyn mentioned above. I did not however put the clear film on the hood as i don't like the "line" from side to side. Do i have a couple of small chips on my hood, yes, but putting the film on the front bumper will capture 90% of the flying crap. I also had the installer put the clear film on my blinkers and headlight lense which is completely invisible. I watched them install the film and although I am pretty mechanically inclined, I don't think I'd try the film install myself. Don't hesitate, get it! BTW, cost was about $400 to $500 but definitely cheaper than a re-paint that may not match.

    I agree with all of the above and one word of caution and that is be careful if you use any type of wheel cleaner/degreaser that is meant to disolve the brake dust residue. Some of the aftermarket product contain harmful ingredients (I think it is lye) and can do a lot of harm to the rotors, etc. While it costs more (and my car is still under warranty) I buy the wheel cleaner/ degreaser from the local Porsche parts department. Like Uwon, I am also an absolute nut about cleanliness (just ask my wife too) and I even clean the inside of my wheels/rims with a special spiral shaped brush I think I got from Autogeek. Tony

    I also have 305/30/19 on my 08C2S with no spacers or wheel/tire issues. Stock Carrera Sport rims with Michelin super sports. Also agree with mghorayeb about the tires being more "flush" with the fender.
