  1. I have had a set replaced under warranty as well (different sides replaced at different times). Rattle came after a track day both times. Since my emissions warranty is about up I am probably just going to switch over to a set of cat delete pipes for track days (use 02 sensor spacers so CEL does not come on). When my cats died I got a CEL and the durametric scan confirmed it as the catalytic converter. Are the european cats more durable? I know they don't meet USA emissions requirements but I am sure the are much more durable to live through high speed continuous use and are better than a delete pipe. As for the conectors I suppose you could break out the soldering iron and extend the wires....
  2. Fluid type? Any difference in noise from clutch pedal pressure? Change in noise depending on speed?
  3. I'll take some pictures when I do mine in a week or two. I will be installing the Supersprint delete pipes. Already had one cat detach and create an idle rattle from a lot of track usage. Now that I am out of emissions warranty I don't want it to happen again....
  4. Any updates on this? I am planning on installing a G2X as well this weekend. Any suggestions on where to tap into 12V switched power?
  5. Looks like the early flange is the correct one for the Quaife... All it needed was a little more persuasion for the C-clip to seat. I measured it out it so I knew at that point it should fit, all I needed was a bigger hammer.
  6. In the process of installing a Quaife differential the shop who did the work switched my later model joint flanges for the early style for correct fitment. While inspecting the car before heading to the track I find the driver side axle not seated completely into the transmission and a small leak from the area. I order a new C-clip for the axle and re-install pretty much hoping that will be the end of it but the C-clip wants to engage at a point too far out for the seal to be positioned correctly. The shop who did the work is no longer around and I have never had a problem with the trans/differential in over a year the Quaife has been installed for but I want to get this sorted. The passenger side joint flange looks like it works great and is correctly positioned and is solidly engaged with the C-clip retainer. Basically now I am thinking the driver side axle might have to be switched back to the later style. Does anyone know the difference between the two? Or am I just going to need to push the axle into the transmission harder to get the C-Clip to engage? Early style part # 996 332 209 00 which is up to 2001 Late style part # 996 332 209 50 The only marking on my existing flange are 28270 16002 AUN Wish I had my late style flanges sitting around as I would give them a try. Part # 5 in the diagram
  7. What is the part number/ cost for a limited slip out of a 99 model? Tell me if I am mistaken but can this be installed in an 02 or later 996?
  8. Looks the same to me as a normal C2... You used the VIN decoder to get this? http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...ode=vin_decoder
  9. Just wanted to make sure I received the correct coolant from the dealer for my 2004 C2 as the part # differs from the one listed in the 3rd radiator DIY. The part number on the invoice is 000-043-301-05 Also from the clear level indicator strip on the side of the jug the coolant appears red (red coolant is nothing new but I removed green coolant from the car). Can the coolants be mixed with no ill effect or do I have to drain/flush? Oh, and that stuff is expensive….
  10. Since the GT3 has a cooler it must have a pump of some sort. Does the regular 996 transmission have cooling provisions? As prices of the 996 come down I am sure I will start to see more of these at club racing events/track days and any failure points will definitely come to light. If possible I too would like to see a diagram of the GT3 transmission cooling system.
  11. Just wanted to check and see if I received the correct parts and what compensation plates to use on the install. All parts have a green dot marking. Front Sway Bar 996 333 701 26 Rear Sway Bar 996 343 701 21 Strut 996 343 041 21 Shock 996 333 051 34 Springs have markings of Green/White then Front has a orange dot and rear has a blue dot. Thanks for the help can't wait to get this installed and test it on the track this weekend.
  12. Loren, Would you recommend using the factory vibration damper setup if the car is going to be tracked? I ask because I switch between street and track pads.
