  1. THeres A guy on ebay who sells all kinds of parts the dealers won't sell you. Probaly need a 3 x 4 star. You'd halve to figure out an mm size (don't know how thats measured). A really good hardware store will have them. I have a set of 5 + one with a "tamper proof"... hole down the middle for my trans. drain plug. If you splt the wheels, saling them can be a b___. <ake sure you do your home work on that one. Regards, PK P.S.Count up the points. Call Mcfadden Dale hardware in Santa Ana CA. if you get stuck. Hi PK, Thank you for the input Is there any danger of splitting the rim, and do I need to ensure I follow any procedure in fitting them back together to ensure no critical damage is caused. Many thanks Russ
  2. Thanks Toolpant........as usual, your the man
  3. Hi Stump, Are you sure about this, this seem quite a specialised tool, it has double / triple the amount of teeth than a torx driver. many thanks Russ
  4. Hi All, Now I know Porsche do not recommend you split your split rims, but I need to get mine re-painted, and want to carry this out myself. Does any one know where I can get the star tool that bolts the rims together, I aksed Porsche put they wont sell me one because they dont want you to split them Any ideas guys many thanks Russ
  5. Hi Guys, I cant seem to log in to my hotmail to ask Richard this, so wondered if anyone can offer some help. Im just disputing a wheel alignment I have had done and want to check they are using the wrong values, but they are saying that have used the right ones still. In the work shop manual it states vaules for Boxster and Boxster S in a little table (on page 332) and give values for USA Series and Sport, RoW: Series, and RoW: Sport. Does the RoW: Sport relate to Boxster S values os M30 sports suspension. I have a MY00 Boxster S WITHOUT the M30 sports suspension Can anyone help many thanks Russ
  6. Guys Just had my wheel tracking done today, and alot of values were out, they corrected some of them, but were able to correct the rest. Would you be able to tell me what has more than likely worn from the values that they could not get right as below, Front Caster - Left Wheel - 6 degrees 5 minutes (should be 8 degrees) Front Toe out on turn - Left wheel - 1 degree 26 minutes (should be 2 degrees 20 minutes) Front Toe out on turn - Right wheel - 1 degree 20minutes (should be 2 degrees 20 minutes) Rear Camber - Left Wheel - -0 degree 55 minutes (should be 1 degree 30 minutes) Full info is: Front Camber - Left wheel = -0.24, right wheel = -0.19 Front Caster - Left wheel = 6.5, right wheel = 7.32 Front Toe - Left wheel = 0.02, right wheel = 0.02 Front KPI - Left wheel = 17.47, right wheel = 17.41 Front Included angle - left wheel = 17.24, right wheel = 17.22 Front Toe out on turn - left wheel = 1.26, right wheel = 1.20 Total toe = 0.04 Rear Camber - Left wheel - -0.55, right wheel = -1.55 Rear Toe - Left wheel = 0.06, right wheel = 0.03 Total Toe = 0.09 Many thanks Russ
  7. Thanks Loren, Hi Richard, its been a while, how are you sir. I never heard from you after I sent you that payment so I am presuming you got this ok. Can you tell me what the air pump does. I am indeed in the UK and was wondering if this is an upgrade, or pointless? many thanks Russ
  8. Can any one tell me what the 996 605 104 00 does? Is this fitted to the Boxster S (MY00) or is it a face lift? Is it worth me getting one to add to the Boxster S (MY00)? Many thanks Russ
  9. Hey Chris, Thanks for the feedback. Yes the Tach lights were on, but my camera is rubbish and they did not seem to come through very well. I have another camera that I will take some better pics with. Its does by a circuit I designed, that reads in the tach signal and turns on the LED mounted internally in the instrument cluster. Russ
  10. Hey Guys and Gals, As promised, you will find below a sneak preview of the video showing the RH Noble Dials Mod. I am waiting for Loren to help me with host, so please bare with the poor quality, its the best i could do for now. As you will see, during low revs the lights are the standard white light, then as you begin to enter the power band the lights change to blue. These stay static blue up until you begin to get close to the rev limier, at which point, the blue lights flash. It has a hidden switch that can be changed to select a variety of programmer with in the processor such as below 1 - off 2 - power band = static blue, rev lim = flashing blue 3 - power band = Flashing blue, rev lim = static blue This can be regarded as purely aesthetic looking, or can help during tracking, etc. I have also integrated another little feature that as soon as I start the engine, the rear spoiler extends and then retracts. Completely aesthetic, and just looks sexy as you start up in a petrol station. Hope you like Russ P.S - I take no responsibility for any one that wants to try and attempt this at home. The instrument cluster is an extreamly delicate and precise piece of design, and unless precautions and care are not carried out, permanent damage may result. This is a very advanced mod MOV01667.MPG
  11. Hi, I need to split the whole rim from the spoke, so I can get them re painted. Any idea on procedure, and more importantly, torque values?? Cheers Russ
  12. Put it this way, I painted all my interior with Alumilook paint, and applied a very high gloss coat. If you could see mine you would be impressed, but at the end of the day, its your choice
  13. Personally, I think the stick on stuff it tacky, looks cheap and it can peel. Spraying them depends on your knowledge, but in essence its just a case of scotch padding a key for the paint, spraying with plastic primer, spraying the top coat, and then laqcour. Simply, I would do them for you if you were local, but if you want to ship them over I would be more than happy. Cheers Russ
  14. Are you planning on using the trim kits you can get, that comprise of sticky back effect paper. If so, DONT Have them professional sprayed, or spray them yourself Russ
  15. I have the Porsche split rim wheel, with the torx screws that hole the split rim to the spokes. Does anyone know the torque to tighten these back up too. Also, are there any special procedure you need to follow with these? (Removing and re-fitting) Many thanks Russ
  16. Hi Guys, I'm at a stage where I need to get my wheels reconditioned and painted. I was wondering if any of you have come across a nice silver that is an eye catcher but does not deviate from the standard gorgeous look to much. I was told the Mclaurn F1 Crystal effect silver is very nice. any ideas guys?? Russ
  17. I would have to look in to the shipping for you, but cant imagine it would be mega bucks. Do you want me to look in to this for you?? Also, can we extend the discussion of the Bluetooth keys......this would be ace to do a retrofit. Does anyone have any ideas of the parts we would need??

  19. Mike, You are a legend, you were right, he wouldn't tell me, said that it is a special color that they have developed. They were helpful in selling me their products, but not helpful in offering help in the code. I was going to get some of the bump plugs, but I have now decided to model my own on CAD and get them 3D plastic printed off on our STL machine!! Thanks Mike, I will give that code you gave me a go, appriciate it Russ
  20. Interesting, My "S" pops a little bit of white smoke at start up for about 5 mins, then clears. But as mentioned this may just be excess oil in the bores due to the flat layout. However, I think its a good idea to periodically check the oil separator. Does any one have a list of methods to carry this out??
  21. Hi All, I was wondering if any one knew the paint code for the silver that you can get some of the interior trim in. In the past I have been told its arctic silver, but I compared the current door handles I have (original) against an arctic silver boxster and if completely different.......the interior silver is more smooth (less metallic) and brighter (like a chrome effect type) Any one have any ideas? Also, I have seen a number of images where people have colored there vents in the boxster red leather colour......is there a paint code for this?? Cheers Russ
  22. true, but Im always happy to buy it and ship it over for fellow owners
  23. Push Button Try that, not a bad one
  24. Hi Guys, I dont really like the red button, I prefer the silver metal button, I just think the red ones look a little tacky. One thing regarding the keyless start, I have a feeling this could be created....need some fancy electronics.....but inside the keyfob, is there not a transmitter capsule with the immobilizer in?? Basically, if you try to start the car with out the capsule the immobilizer will kick in. Therefore, you could by pass the need to put the key in and start the engine with the key still in your pocket. The need for an extra step, its simply the pleasure factor, most sports cars have push button starts......its just something about push start that warms the heart.....I think so anyway. Regarding the blue light conversion.....this is an easy mod, and I'm sure boggtown or myself can guide you though this, however I actually like the orange. While on the blue light, I have just programmed my micro processor with the tach input coding for the blue light rev limiter like the nobles. I just need to install it all.... ....basically, I am designing the dial clocks so that numbering around the Tach only has the following stages, At between 0 - 3500 RPM, the number color is the standard orange. The between 3500 - 7000 RPM (which I class as the power band) the number color changes to Blue. Then past 7000 RPM as you approach the rev limiter, the numbers flash blue. I will post a movie as soon as this is installed. Russ
  25. Hi boggtown, what is it Im looking for on your profile?? Russ
