  1. Do Porsche do a engine start button?? If not, any one know of ones that look nice in Boxsters?? Russ
  2. yupppp, just done that, I now have the full tach output profile yiiiippppiiiieeee
  3. Yes, I actually think is a 5v sq wave, but what I need is the cycle information for various rev speeds. Does any one have this?? Cheers Russ
  4. Thank you. Does anyone have the data curve for the TN output?? Russ
  5. Hi systech, It is not the speed signal I want, its the rev signal (Tach) Cheers Russ
  6. Hi, Its a MY00 Boxster S. Thanks in advance to any help you can offer. Russ
  7. guys, Do ny of you know where the rev dial control signal comes in?? I thought it was pin 14 on the white cluster plug (TN signal), but this shows no sign of voltage variation during reving.................is this because it is a PWM signal?? If anyone can help, please please let me know. Many thanks Russ
  8. what welding did you use on these - brazing or MIG?? and what material are the pipes??
  9. I have an old stock exhaust that has damaged outlets, I could rip this apart and see where the piping ducts to inside (it must duct to a channel) Does anyone know if we can order the valve pipe from anywhere?? Russ
  10. Does anyone know if you can buy the valve that is fitted to the exhaust. I want to see if these can be added as a after market to my exhaust, just welding a pipe in place with the valve? has this been done? Russ
  11. If when you say piggy-backing you mean connecting in series, dont even try it!!! Amps need a low input, so by connecting the high output of one amp to the input of another will result in you blowing the FET's or some of the circuits in side. Not worth the risk, better to just by a decent amp.
  12. From my little knowledge, yes this should fit, the only difference is that you have 2 extra amplified channels now This is used to power the optional rear Bose speaker I believe the connections are identical - just more pins are populated in the 6 way amp
  13. YUUUUUUP - Just checked, I have a Boxster S MY00 and my Cap's part number is 996.106.447.00 :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
  14. Blimy, I never knew this, I will check this straight away. What is the reason why they should be replaced with the 01 verison?? many thanks Russ
  15. Quick one you mention "an older cap" is there an issue with the original filler cap then. I ask cause I have had similar issue where coolant has vented through the cap when my car temperature has risen over normal operating temperature (stuck in traffic or something) Cheers Russ
  16. Wow, I like this hood, nice nice nice. Do any of you know anyone that has fitted a red style hood to a black boxster? I have a black boxster with full red leather and always wondered how sexy it would look with a red hood as well? Cheers Russ
  17. I have the AMP and MOLEX removal tool, they are a good investment if you know you will use them a lot. I also have the specialised AMP and MOLEX crimp tools, expensive but a highly worth while purchase cheers Russ
  18. The wire is the emergency boot release (incase you lock you keys in or loose them) The de-CAT pipes will make a good difference, but beware, there are issue with the O2 Sensors when you do this modification, I would do a search on RennTech first and read up on this cheers
  19. What does condensation in the trunk lid mean (around the fluid top up area) I always get this, quite an amount too. Im worried now, can some one explain? many thanks Russ
  20. As far as I know, it is possible to change the mileage of a Porsche (most makes) but unless the job is done with serious detail there are ways of finding out. In order for full tampered mileage to be entered, you would need to change alot of operating hours of various systems, this would take a while and not sure if it can be done with most systems, not even with the Porsche equipment. So if in doubt, get it checks, they will probably be able to find out a value that seems strange somewhere if it has been altered. Loren and tool pant will have the answer to if its possible to tamper the mileage with out any trance.........but I doubt it.
  21. Good thinking, Do you have any butteryfly ports to hand, or a dealer where I can get them from?? Cheers Russ
  22. I Have to be honest, I have been driving around with the sound deadening off for a few days now (as Im doing a cruise control addition so need access) and it had been fine, its not overly loud at all and I could easily do a 5 hours drive with it, Its actually pleasant hearing the gorgeous sound of this engine. With the engine heat cover off as well, if deafening, especially when you hit 6 thousand revs......but it is amazing. I think if I can duct through directly to the engine, you will be able to control the sound and it will be pretty **** amazing. I would insist you all try it, but simply remove component.....don’t peel off the sound deadening from the rear shelf in case you don’t like it!!
  23. Yes, easy, simply conect the two wire going to the LED in the new alarm to the two wires going to the in dash LED, splice extra lengths if needed. Very simple mod
  24. Holy Moly sugar and pie, wow wow wow I was reading something on Renntech a post to a question on how to make your boxster sound nicer, and someone jokingly said remove the sound deadening from the parcel shelf cover......... ........so I had to give this a ago and removed the whole parcel shalf matt, and what a noise, you can hear everything, even the sudden air blast you get when you press the throttle, its sooooo sexy. Then I went a step further and wedged the heat shield open a lot so it was direct engine noise, and my god......it was incredible, I grant that you could not drive with the noise everyday, but wow, it was like an F1 car. So I have set myself a mission to design some sound ports in to the parcel shelf that have butterfly valves in to select if you want to hear the engine or not  top bombing :lightbulb: :renntech:
  25. By the way, just to add a note about bolts, you actually only need to screw in at a depth that is equal to the width of the bolt. Any extra does not make a massive difference. We also proved this in a number of University experiments while doing my engineering degree cheers Russ
