  4. Hi, Just drove home. First thing I noticed (i think!!) if I hit a bump and it cause the car to shift the the right lets say, then it feels like the steering wants to turn into the shift, I.E the wheels turn left, and you kind of hae to correct this. Sometime it corrects it self. Second thing, is similar to what sammy mentioned above. The car some times shift to one side but then corrects its self and shifts to the other side and you can feel it working thought the steering wheel. One way I guess I could kind of describe some of the feeling is like some of the early steering wheels on the playstation, where the motor used to try and turn the wheel back when you tried to turn it. Hopw this kind of makes sense. many thanks Russ
  5. Great, Thank Loren, Is there anything I can check at home, like jack it up and wobble he wheel to check ball joint slack, etc?? many thanks
  6. Loren, Tool Pant - Do you have any comment on this that might shead some light on if its a serious problem or just the characteristics of the car
  7. hehe, yeah I guess. Anyone want the link to judge their opinions?? Russ
  8. Hi Guys, Has any one pursched from the US one of these Gas saving kits I keep seeing on Ebay.com. Its a pre swirl attachment that fits in the inlet, and a gas line ironizer, which both apparently help improve MPG. Anyone know about these who have any comments?? many thanks Russ

  12. It say, Made in: West Germany Manufacture: Porsche Model Type: Sports Car Manufacture Year: 2000 Assembly Location: Stuttgart Vehicle Type Designation: 3rd digit 986 Boxster S Body/Engine Code: 3.2 Litre So I guss its a MY00, which is call, just shame it was not registered in 00, It would be worth slightly more then (a year newer)!!! hehe So this will have EGas?? Yes??
  13. I recently brought a Boxster S - MY99 (US MY00) after previously having a MY98 2.5 Boxster. Since driving it, there is a strange feeling thought the steering, and Im not sure if this is an optional extra that I have not felt before or a problem. Its hard to explain, but if you are driving along, the steering sometime has mind of its own, like it will slightly jolt to the left or right, does not jolt the car much, but you can feel it through the wheel, and then you have to slightly fight it to over ride it. Also, if you turn a corner, it some times tries to turn for you, like you can feel the wheel trying to turn more than you want it to. Its really strange and hard to explain, but wonder if anyone has felt such a feeling before or have any explanations? Many thanks Russ
  14. Hey All, Seem strange, does this mean that UK get releases before the US? The Car I have is a Porsche Boxster S, 3.2 litres, black, and was first registard on 23/09/1999 so the 2nd half of the year. I have done a number of HPI checks and this is all legit. Therefore, do I class this, in US terms, as a MY00, or is it a MY99. If no one is able to say yes or no to if it has EGas cause of the MY confussion, is there any easy way of checking physically? Many thanks for your help guys
  15. I have had some one say this before.... There is such thing as a 1999 Boxster S.....cause I have one, It was registared in 1999, its a 3.2 Boxster S. It have never have an engine change and is registard as an original Boxster S, Feel free to pay me a visit if you need proof So therefore, did EGas start in MY00 or will my 1999 one have EGas as well?? Many thanks all
  16. hey all, Just a quick question, does any one know if a 1999 Boxster S will be fitted with EGas? Many thanks Russ
  17. Hi Guys, just a quick questions which you can delete after if you need to. What does a 1999 Boxster S fall under - 986 or 987?
  18. Thanks mate, What is the sway bar then??
  19. I always use mobile 1 race spec in my porsches, as soon as I buy a porsche (second hand that is) I put in the top of the range mobile stuff. You can get it from halfords but for the 8 litres you need it will set you back between £80-£100. I believe its rated at 0w-40
  20. Its ok guys, hopefully sorted it. It seems I had not tighted the nut enough on the bar that comes of the roll bar (whats the name of this bar??) Amazing that even thought the nut was on and reasonablly tight, unless its tightened correctly alot of problems can extend from it feel free to delete this thread if you wish so not to clog up the web site thanks
  21. Need help quick I took the drivers side low wishbone off today and regreased all the joints, but it back togather and all seemed good, till I drove it. I now seem to get a knocking noise when i go ouver bumps or turn to the right. Please any one got any ideas??
  22. well I only need to grease it up for now, cause i have sold the car, was it easy to get off?? Does the torsion bar spring back?? Thanks
  23. Hi All, Need some help. I have one serious creaky drivers side front suspension, and having done a search on this forum, it seem that it could be the lower wishbone to suspension strut ball joint. Is it possible to lower the wish bone from the suspension strut so I can grease it up with out anything springing out of place?? Many thanks R
