  1. Hi windsurfnut, did u manage to solve your problem?, mine has just started to do exactly what urs was doing?, I dismantled everything and put it back, and it works just once, and then stops.
  2. Hi Eks, I too resolved my issue, also by chance!, my mechanic changed my water pipes(common problem), and returned the car to me but there was a small leak so I sent the car back and he check everything and managed to clear up the water pipe issue, when I went to pick up the car, he mentions to me that he fixed a small pipe that leads to the intake (under the plastic V8 cover), that had a crack in it. After picking up the car, and testing it for any water leaks I noticed that the spluttering problem had completely gone!! So in my case, it seems like the cracked airpipe that goes to the intake after the MAF sensors was the culprit, the car now is totally different, idols smoothly and responds much better, and goes into the redline without hesitation!! :-)
  3. Hi RFM, do you know what values should be recorded for the lean or rich settings while recording, ie.. what would be considered lean or rich?
  4. Hi Eks, I recently removed my catalytic converters, as I noticed the smell of sulphur when revving high, also where I live the fuel quality is very bad, the intermittent cuts have gotten a LOT better but still a little when revving past 4k (although the nice thing is the car sounds fantastic!), am now thinking of changing the air filters, and putting in K&N´s this might help it "breathe" better. When I connect to the computer I get a message of timing advanced, which I think might be due to low octane fuel, as I can clear it and it comes back after driving for a couple of days. Will let you know if the airfilters make any changes.
  5. Hey Eks, did you manage to solve the problem?, I have the very same issue, low revs. the car is fantastic and smooth, after 3k onwards it starts to missfire, coils and plugs are new, also did the filters etc.. pumps have been checked and seem ok, mechanic said it might be low fuel octane level, so I added some toluene based thinners, to boost octane, in fact car runs better but still after 3k problem is there. Only once did it stop for a short time when I did a 600km trip, at a steady 140kms p/hr, then after driving stop and start it came back!! let me know if you have progress.
  6. There are no fault codes, so my reckoning is that it is dirty fuel lines or the pumps are dirty and when high pressure is required they cannot deliver. How can I check for MAF sensor/boost? Also, can I remove the pumps and dismantle them and check for debris?
  7. My Cayenne has started spluttering after the revs of about 3800, from standstill I boot the throttle and all ok, when it reaches about 3k to 4k revs all the way to 6,900, she splutters, I have gotten the injectors cleaned out, as it feels as though it is starving of fuel intermittently, a couple of kilometers back I put in new coils and spark plugs, so I don't think this is an electrical issue, I'm thinking maybe fuel filter or pumps, the filter I can check, but how would I go about checking the pumps and where are they located, as I have heard that there are 2 of them!
