  1. Thanks Guys..... I can't wait to get the cord and detector out of the middle of the dash and window......
  2. I want to install my V1 using the power I know is at the dome light area rather than running a line down to the center console area... I have done an extensive search on the web viewing various DIY installs and none of them show how to locate the 12v switched power or ground at the dome light.. I have viewed the DIY on this site but it is for a 997 and the wiring harness in this location is completely different on my 99 996.... If anyone knows the wire color at the dome light harness that is the 12v switched power and which wire color is ground it would be extremely helpful... I should be able to figure it out from there...
  3. Pics are up now...... They were too large and did not attach... I need to do more research on what bracket to buy..... I can say with absolute certainty that the BK R2020 does not work with these GT3 seats.... there is nothing for the bracket to attached to.... I am now looking at other places (i.e. the roll bar) to attached the FE to....
  4. Ron, I don't know why the airbag light came on.... I did everting the way it has been done previously by others.... I believe Bill is correct that the airbag light should not be an issue..... I have a bad back also but the seats are, IMHO, comfortable. As Bill said, they are a little difficult to get into, but after getting used to them, I have found it not be be such a big deal....... Even with that 3 point stock belt run through the 1 shoulder opening in the GT3 seat, the swap time should be minimal (1 additional bolt). I had the passenger seat out last night when I was trying to figure out which BK fire extinguisher bracket I should buy...... :help: The R & R took less than 10 minutes in and out..... Here are photos of the seats in with and without the 6 point Simpson Harnesses .....
  5. Ron, I just replaced my full power seats with the GT3 seats.... Including the R & R of the seat belt reciever and re-connecting the sealt belt electrical connections it shouldn't take more than 15 - 30 minutes per seat. It's really not that difficult. One item to note.... The airbag light came on when the seats were installed even though I had the negative battery cable removed and the keys out of the ignition.... :cursing: I had to have the code cleared at my local shop.... Hope this helps....
  6. The positions are great.... just try to heal toe an early 80's 911, ya gotta be double jointed or something
  7. OK actually 4.5 minutes...but I have a cab. I just put the top part way down, unhook the bottoms, pull the foam back and twist the knob. Oh I love my cab! That's like............. cheating :D
  8. I have not driven both, but I will say I have changed my PSS9 settings several times...It is very easy (less than 5 minutes). I am debating between the ROW M030 and the PSS9 and cannot decide.... go figure :help: I just watched a PSS9 get installed... removal of the back interior carpet and panel is required to access the top of the rear shock towers to adjust the rebound rate, the front you can access without removing the tires if you know where the knob is and the rotors aren't hot...... 5 Minutes..... really? I had to remove interior panels to install the TE roll bar... I guess it could be done once you knew where the snap in points were on the interior pieces.... now crawling to the back thru the TE bar and the fixed back GT3 seats is another thing entierly..... :cursing:
  9. Went to Hergesheimer Motorsports and they cleared the fault code.... No problems since..... Thanks for the help guys....
  10. The install went well.... we only had to "redo" a few things.... I will post pics later that show additional information not shown on some of the write ups.... Anyway, when the work was completed and I started the car the air bag light came on.... Prior to the start of work the negative connector to the battery was disconnected and the keys left out of the inginition. I was also extremeely careful to re-install the seat belt connector in exactlly the same position as it was when it was removed.... However, contrary to the directions/writeups posted on this board and various other boards the actual harness connector (3" x 1") on the passenger seat did not appear to be removable from the old seat. The driver side large connector (3" x 1") was removable frome the seat and was used to reconnect the seat belt wiring. On the passenger side the small 1/4" x 1/4" seat belat connector was removed from the large connector at the seat and reconnected to the other end of the large connector attached to the wiring on the car underneath the seat..... Is this the culprit? From everything I've read the dealer is the only one to clear the fault light..... and that's assuming I have figured out the problem or I will get another code....... My car is a 99 996 C2 Any comments are greatly appreciated.......
  11. I need to replace the trunk and engine compartment release levers. When I bought My C@ used, the levers were scratched...... I have done a search on the site and cannot find this part number... Thanks.
