    2002 C4S Manual I am looking to put a fixed rear wing on my 2002 C4S. Anyone that has a wing on their P-Car that would work on the C4S could you post a pic. Or give me any recomendations you might have would be great. I have seen a few in Excellence magazine, but they only show the wings and I would like to see them on the car. Thanks soutahc4s

    Disregard this post. I had a brain fade on naturally aspirated. That means no turbo or blower. Has nothing to do with fuel injection. Curious soutahc4s

    Thanks Loren, that did the trick. There was not much carbon, but it looks like just enough to make it so the air was being disrupted or not getting through as much as it should on idle. What a simple fix. Thanks again for a teriffic website. soutahc4s

    I have a 2002 C4s coupe manual. Lately on cold startup it starts at an idle of around 700 rpms and when you hit the gas it dies. After restart it idles up to 1100-1200 rpms and then settles into the 700-800 rpm range and everything is good. The temperature here in the morning is 74 F as a low and 100 F as a high. It only does it when the car has not been warmed up first time start up of the day. It just started doing it over the last few weeks. I have always used Techron every 3000 miles to hopefully to keep the deposits from building up. I was told by my dealer that the cars are made to use 93 octane but here in the US we only have 91 at the pumps and this contributes to carbon buildup. The dealer told me this was due to carbon buildup and the gas needed to saturate the carbon before everything would run right. Thanks for any input on this matter. soutahc4s

    Thank you for the responses. One more question on indicator failure messages. Am I correct that the "indicator failure" message is intended to convey a problem with the gauge or sensor, and that if my oil pressure was indeed dropping to zero and the gauge were accurately reflecting the zero reading I would not get the "indicator failure" message? Thanks for your help. Extremely unlikely that your pressure ever fell to ZERO with the engine running. My be just a loose wire on the sending unit of a bad unit altogether. Unlikely that it is the gauge. I have a 2002 C4s coupe manual and had the same problem. They said it was my guage cluster and they replaced it. That did not fix the problem and it turned out to be the sending unit on the engine. Yes the warning you are getting is just to let you know that something is wrong with the sensor or something else. If you lost pressure the idiot light on the dash would iluminate and that would mean you have a serious problem. soutahc4s

    I have a 2002 c4s coupe with the same noise you are talking about. It has to be the seal. For when the noise starts (and it is annoying) I can push against the window to break the seal even more and this changes the sound. Is there a way for the window to be tighter against the seal when the door is closed. It comes and goes depending on speed and which way the crosswind is blowing. soutahc4s

    I have a 2002 c4s manual and last night the gauge did the same thing you are talking about for the first time. Will check on Saturday to see if it reads the fuel quantity correctly. On my in dash computer the miles until empty did not change either it read the same before and after the refueling 45 miles until empty. soutahc4s Drove on saturday refueled and the gauge is back to normal. soutahc4s

    996 2002 c4s I need a replacement battery. Mine has completley died and will not take a charge. Checked water level etc. Original battery with 37.000 miles on it. Can anyone suggest a replacement battery that I can get locally. I am around 300 miles from the nearest Porsche dealership. Do I need to use an OEM Battery or is there an aftermarket I can use instead? The manual said to replace with a Porsche OEM only. Thanks for any help out there. DSnow sotuahc4s

    Thanks. This is just what I was looking for. Gert Carnewal www.carnewal.com sells the RUF type pedals (w/o the logo). They are very plain looking and functional IMHO. These are the RUF, but the others are the same. This is pefect. Thanks soutahcfs

    I am looking for brushed aluminum rings to go around the Tack, Speedometer, etc. Does anyone know of a web site or place where I can order these.     I have a 2002 C4S with 37,000 miles on it. I purchased it with 32,000 miles in August. Upon delivery I had it taken in for a 30,000 major service. This car will not be tracked. It is my semi-daily driver. This car is the funnest thing I have ever driven. My brother said it felt like his Ducati in the acceleration department. Anyway, the manual says to change the oil every 15,000 miles or 1 year. I am from the old school of 3000 or 3 months. I know Porsche is one of the most highly engineered automobiles out there and there must be a reason why they recomend this. Am I safe to stay with what the manual says. Same thing on the Tranny it says to change the oil every 60,000 miles. On the Clutch when should I replace it. Is there a mileage interval or just when I start to feel it slipping.     2002 C4S Manual US I am a first time Porsche owner and know that the speed is for the track, but you can be in a 75 mph zone and look down and you are doing 95 plus without realizing it. I feel getting pulled over by the law is not if, but when. Just trying to avoid the moment. This car is the most fun I have ever had. I always wanted one since before I could drive. This is my first and not my last, but I will have this one forever. What dash / window mounted radar detector would any of you recommend? Thank you, soutahc4s
