  1. Of course! Looks like here is more knowledge than in my porsche shop. Bigbuzuki was right: Testdrive and.... Battery Warning light came on. .... Why they never do what customers ask for. Check alternator please. Noooooo its the starter. Onother 1000 euro and for shure one more week. Unbelievable!!!
  2. Yes yes it sounds strange for me too. I was talking with them and they told me: Car with a new battery which dont want to start and just make click cllick is 90 % a starter problem. They explain me that a not proper working starter is using a lot of power from the cars electric system and that should be the reason for the BATTERY WARNING SIGN in the display. When the old starter was out they connect it with a battery and made a test. Nothing. This piece didnt do anything. For me it sounds very special but they are the specialist. So wait and see if the car is running tomorrow without problems. As you can see, the turbo has already the alu water tubes. Many many times here people discussed the problem with broken tubes and later on with starting problems. In this way it makes sence what happend.
  3. SURPRISE SURPRISE....... Car is at service already one week and today they Called to note me thats not the alternato which cause the problem, It is The starter they told me. I visit my car this evening when they installed the new part. I hope it will be ready tomorrow and i pray the problem Is solved. I let you know!
  4. Very sad to hear. I can understand you in some way but with these cars you need at least two things: patience and a good mechanic or like here some supporting people in a forum. Wish you good luck with your next racer
  5. Hi again Was talking with a bosch service person today. Discussing the possible causes of my starting problems. He mentioned that specially with the cayennes water pipe problems the low voltage problem could be a bad alternator / starter harness. So before starting the time intensive procedure with the alternator, is it a real option to check the wiring on the starter? Thank you
  6. No i never had a problem with jump starts. All what i can say, the car never started at once. Dont know how to describe. With my s i turn the key and brrrrrmmmm. The turbo takes a while,
  7. Today it was the last day i try to do something by myself. Reading on the jumper port under the hood 12, 20 I try to start, of course not working. Readings after several starts 9,65 Used my other car for jump starting. Not working. Starter just make " KLICK" Changed battery for the new one. Reading 12,99 Try to start. Nothing, starter just make "KLICK" Try to make jump start. Nothing. Starter just make ...... KLICK Finally did i spoil my starter too, or could the starter be the issue or ? I am finish with my ideas. Tomorrow i will call a track to tow away the car. Thanks to everybody for your patience!
  8. It is frustrating! My little japanese didnt make me troubble even one time In 4 years. I will use him for a while until problem is solved
  9. I dont want to make you mad:-) I will change the battery tomorrow and try to get to the BOSCH Shop.
  10. But my old Cayenne S did it every day. Even in winter with heating, light etc
  11. The BOSCH Service is 3 km away. I am just a bit affraid to drive the vehikel with this problem. My office is about the same distance and you see what happen this evening. I started there with no problem and on the way home the problem came back. Now i went out to check whats going on. If you turn the key...... Noooooothing
  12. I have here 3 batteries. 2 are almost new. One is used. Can i bring it to the shop or they must be installed in the car?
  13. The tester which you recommend didnt arrive today . I used the multimeter on the plus / minus port under the hood. Yesterday i did a test drive on the highway, car was warmed up. After 30 minutes of driving as i wrote it was almost 14. Battery? Maybe. I can change again
  14. My joy lasted only 3 days:-( Today same problem came back. Driving home from office, engine starts to rev higher and after some minutes battery warning sign. Arriving home i checked voltage. Engine running at 1000 rpm and reading was just 9.99 What the ...... Is it. I thought a broken alternator is not charging at all. Why this part is sometimes working and sometimes not. Anyway. Now i know i cant solve this by myself.
  15. Thank you very much for the explanation. Its ordered. I will report the test results when i get it.
  16. Its not the lighter socket which i used for charging device. I used on of the sockets which are in the car. Footwell, backside of the armrest, There are many of them. But as mentioned before, there must be some relation betwenn this electric gramlins and the sockets. Do i have to get them tested in some way or is the best advice: dont use it. Thank you to everybody for supporting me ! Donation is on the way:-)
  17. Looking at the car today. No power drain. Starting not a problem at all .Driving normal. No battery warning signal. For me its like a miracle. I remember what members here always recommand. Look at things or changings which you did lately. The only thing i did: I used a external navi system and charged it via power outlet. The charging cable was still plugged in yesterday. I removed it. And today the problem dissapeared. Maybe this was the reason? I will see. By the way, with my cayenne s i had random PSM problems. In the end i found out, most of these problems appeared when i used a aftermarket charging cable for my iphone. I believe there is a relation between using power outlets and electric problems. I am dreaming or this could be possible?!
  18. +1, you can actually run a true load test on the alternator with the correct equipment such as a battery load tester. JFP .... I know i have to get it tested in a professional way. The only reason why i want to do some research by myself: I know when i bring the car to the shop i will get it back with some parts changed and a bill which will be much more than 1000 Euro. My cayenne s was there many many times in the last 2 years and in total i spent 10.000 euro for changing parts and labour. Many of these service jobs where not neccessary i found out.
  19. Yes the battery was only 11.3 after some days the car was not moved at all. You are right, There is some drain for shure. The high reading of 13.96 was with ac, headlight. Radio, defroster on.
  20. JFP thank you! You said must be between 13,5 and 14,5 But my reading 13,98 is in the range you mentioned
