I've been told by a local porsche specialist and there is no new type seal is this correct, I've just found a later type double lip seal part number 99710121200 will this fit into a 2002 996 where it is advertised it says so,I'm not sure if the local specialist know his stuff. -

Thanks for the reply i will try the search,its my first time on here thanks again -
i'm looking at changing the rear main seal on my 2002 996 i have all the tools and access to a ramp,is this quite a straight forward job and is there any step by step guide to this job' i'm quite competant to do this job having worked fo a specialised mercedes benz truck dealer for the last 10 years.
