  1. Its a 2000 911 cab.. 32000 miles I live in Miami Beach Fl.. I know its a common problem with 1998 and prior but ive never heard of that happening on the 2000s..
  2. Thanks for the reply. The oil level is fine. And the guage reads correct as you specified but once the car warms up and ive run it for a while the pressure drops below 1. Only on idle though. If i give it gas it goes back to normal until i idle again.
  3. I posted this once before but i still have some questions. I just bought the car.. When the car reaches normal operating temp only on idle the oil pressure drops under 1 sometimes even turns on the low oil light for a second. If i give it a little bit of gas the pressure goes right back up to normal. I idle at 800 rmp-900 can a cloged oil filter cause this?
  4. It does drop the windows when i pull the door handle but it doesnt work all the time.. I did notice though that when its not working the light on the door lock key remains lit on the dash indicating that the door is not locked at least i think thats what it means it also beeps twice when the problem is occuring.
  5. Im putting on a set of Iforged Rims next week 19s and im also lowering the car at the same time... In my opinion you have to lower it with the 19s if not its not going to look good. There are some pics in www.Iforged.com of 911s lowered with 19s.. Cant go wrong dont do the 18s if you have the option of going with 19s you will be happy with those. These are the rims im getting my car is a black cab though.. http://www.iforged.com/showroom/view_photo...bum03&id=9961_G Hope this helps if you want pics of the car when its lowered give me your email address and i will sent them.
  6. Everything works ok and the fuse has to be ok b/c sometimes it works the problem is intermitent. I did notice though that when the problem is occuring the door lock button on the dash has a red light on it indicating that there is a problem with the lock I think.. Even though the door is locked correctly and locks and unlocks with the keyfob and with the button.. So i think its a problem with the sensor that tells the computer that the door is locked.. But then again i have no idea how these cars work so its just a guess. So my question is what is the part that tells the computer that the doors are locked and were is it?
  7. Ok sorry i know everyone must ask the same thing i did a search but didnt find anything. I have a 2000 911 cab. Does anyone have any detailed instructions on how to change the oil? I usually do my own maint but when i called around to get pricing its over 200 dollars to change the oil im just curious why? Is there something special that needs to be done? When i got under the car i see the oil filter and the alen plug that needs to be removed and it seems to be very straight forward. Is there any trick to it? A mechanic told me a while back that they had to remove a bunch of stuff on the 911 to get to the filters ect is this true?
  8. I have a 2000 911 cab.. When you open the door its suppose to lower the windows a little bit in order to clear the top when it closes then it rises automatically. For some reason this stopped working only on the passenger side. The lock button by the radio is also lit up. Also the int lights don't come on when that door opens. Aside from that the window and locks work fine. I'm assuming the problem is with the sensor or mechanism that tells the computer that the door is actually closed. My question is were is the switch located that tells the computer that the door is closed?
