  1. Don't know what a 4S would do to the equation, but my PDK C2 is very responsive. If it did what you describe, I'd be in the shop with it. On a decent slope the brakes grab enough to freak me out - no rolling back for sure, but I need to get used to that. Caveat though - I am only in regular mode as long as I have forgotten to push Sport or S+ (not long) and I don't do Auto very often either. I found a really cool doc "2009_Technik_Introduction_All_997_Carrera_models.pdf" on some forum - could be here or PCA.org, not sure. Anyway, it explains much more about PDK (and more) than ever made it to the Owner's Maunals. Turns out the Sport and Plus modes also effect Manual shifting - cool stuff and makes S+ actually usable in normal driving. Auto and S+ is too over the top for around town for me. I'll attach it - if that's a no-no, sorry, someone delete it. Actually, better, here's the link: (link deleted) Worth a read for sure. Thant document is available here to our Contributing Members - and the linked document was likely taken from here. What section is it in. I plan to donate if I can find it.
  2. Are you talking about the rain rail? Mine is doing that too. Did you ever get a solution?
  3. Yes, I bought the optional Thicker Sport Wheel but it came with tip switches. I need info on how to remove those and reinstall mine. I removed on screw but something else is holding it in :-(
  4. Does anyone know how to remove the alumalook blank plates to either side of the airbag on the Sport Steering Wheel? Is there any special trick needed to remove them?
  5. If you go after market be willing to accept some vibration or resonance. They sound better and do make more power but I could not live with the drawbacks. Probably because I’m picky. I tried AWE and then switched to the new Porsche Sport Exhaust due to a slight vibration around 2000rpm when downshifting or stopping. Other exhausts to consider are Milltek, Tubi and Fabspeed. For exhaust tips keep an eye on ebay. I picked up the optional Boxster chrome exhaust for a great price. Also check out Booth Designs for chroming options on your stock tip.
  6. How about the alum-i-look blank plates to either side of the airbag, is there any special trick needed to remove them?
  7. This wheel doesn't come with switches. So my only option is to use the blanks off my wheel. Thanks for the try though.
  8. Does anyone know for certain if a TIP sport steering wheel can be converted to a MANUAL sport steering wheel by changing the TIP switches to the MANUAL covers? In other words is the exact same wheel used for both applications? Manual 997.347.980.00.T24 TIP 997.347.980.01.T24
  9. Thats weird? My 2006 doesn't do that.
  10. I'm a bit lost here. Do you remove the one bolt in the center? Or the four bolts marked in green?
  11. I believe it is worth it. The sound seems better. Not so much louder but the essence is different / cooler. I left the snorkel in place and used small bolts to attach a screen to the inner frame.
  12. EUREKA, after 3 hours I finally got it off :clapping: I had to attack the middle tabs first and then the top came loose. Maybe there is hope for the mechanically challenged. :renntech: AGAIN :D
  13. Ok, after spending 2 f****** hours trying to remove my vent I’m convinced this entire link is a cruel conspiracy to make me feel like a complete IDIOT. It worked. I thought you guys were my friends  But seriously, I can’t get this thing out  It is a possessed demon vent! Hopefully someone at the dealership will show me how. :censored:
  14. I just received new Hawk HPS front pads for my 987S. The invoice states they are for 996 Carrera? Do they use the same caliper? What about 987 S rears, does it share calipers with other models?
  15. Does anyone know the number of Flutes and Millimeter size for the 987 oil filter cartridge case? I searched the forums but could not find a definitive answer. Any suggestions where to find a substantial wrench like the factory one that will fit a 3/8” torque wrench? I don’t like the cheap plastic or thin metal housings  I also don’t want to mess with the 27mm socket on the factory wrench  :drive:
  16. The 987 visors didn’t look like they would come off very easy. At least I was afraid I might break something during the removal process. Maybe someone could provide removal instructions to help others. I didn’t have any bad effects on the vinyl from the denatured alcohol. I guess the smart way to remove the decals is to start with regular alcohol first. Then if that doesn’t work the denatured stuff will for sure. I also treated with 303 Aerospace upon completion.
  17. So easy, I learned it from a post by JimR on Rennlist. Much easier than other posts I have seen on this topic. NO need to remove the visors. 20-30 min tops.
  18. I don't flame most of the time but OMG,,,Y would someone disrespect a PORSCHE like that 
  19. Does anybody know the exact specifications front and rear for the 18” Boxster S OEM wheel? Width? Offset?
  20. Does anybody have really DETAILED installation instructions for a Porsche OEM short shifter? I have read other posts that say it is easy but I’m extremely mechanically challenged.
  21. DSG would be awesome. I owned an Audi TT with DSG before purchasing my Boxster.
  22. Experiencing a howling noise around 2800 RPM in 5th and 6th gears. I can't tell if its coming from engine, transmission or rear-end? Does this problem sound familar to anyone?
