  1. Thx. Will you please check on the torque spec? alldatadiy shows 60nm (44 ft lbs).
  2. Did tightening of the tensioner fixed the problem? What do you need to remove to access it? Thx for any tips. I ran into similar issue earlier this week.
  3. I talked to the distributor and they mentioned that folks are having success with these units. Also, accepts rear view camera input and no dahs kit is required. TV option is only valid for EU and won't work for the US but I don't care about that option. Anything that gives touch screen with Bluetooth and decent fit is a winner over PCM 2.0.
  4. That makes total sense. Thanks for helping me getting this resolved. Wish the manual was clearer....
  5. I called the independent shop and they mentioned similar logic. You mentioned that you have this option available. Can you please check if you have an "Auto" setting for the headlight knob? If yes, does it relate to any special options or packages on the vehicle. I can't figure out what package or option would have added headlight hardware to enable "Auto" setting. Thanks for your help.
  6. I read through the link that you had posted and as you have posted above, it is worth looking at the software update. I don't have an auto option on the headlight knob and didn't think that it was an option. Do you have this option on the knob? I am going to call couple of independent shops around here to see if they have PIWIS. In the mean time, l am looking into ordering Durametric (either the real one or the china version that you provided the link to). Thanks for the help.
  7. I would be interested in it too and see if I can also double the output of my Turbo to 1000 hp :)
  8. I don't see "Lights" in the Setting Menu on my vehicle and have no clue why it would be missing. That's the mystery that I am trying to solve.
  9. I don't see the option. Do you mind posting the date that your vehicle was made (it should be on the door sill)? Also, do you have any special options that may relate to "comfort" or "lighting"? I am trying to figure out why I don't have the option and if it was due to late addition in 2004 year or came with a special package instead of being standard? thanks for your help.
  10. I am referring to the option to keep the headlights on when the vehicle is locked but not sure if this was a standard option on Turbo or was it added later on in 2004 or did it come with a package. The manual does not indicate this and shows "Lights" as one of the option in the Settings menu (below Comfort and above Units). The text from manual: MAIN MENU > SETTINGS > LIGHTS You can set the duration the headlights remain on after the vehicle is locked. Select OFF DELAY with the rocket switch.... ....
  11. I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo and I was reading through the user manual and saw that Setting menu should have an option to set delay for keeping headlights on after turning off the ignition. I didn't see any options for lights. Was this option available only partially in 2004? Thanks for any insights.
  12. I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo and I was reading through the user manual and saw that Setting menu should have an option to set delay for keeping headlights on after turning off the ignition. I didn't see any options for lights. Was this option available only partially in 2004? Thanks for any insights.
  13. I recently moved to Seattle area from AZ and my 2004 car is currently equipped with 19" summer tires with enough tread left for 10k or so. I am leaning towards a dedicated set of winter/summer tires. The manual only lists 18" as approved size for winter tires. I am thinking of using the 19" rims for winter tires and buying 20" for summer tires. 1) Has anyone had tried 19" winter tires? Can you please share the made/size? 2) Besides ebay, are there any other reliable sources to get rims at decent prices? Thanks Mikey
  14. Some follow-ups about the camera: how do you route wiring from the bumper to the front? Did you hide it under the floor carpet? And how do switch wires from the inside to the bumper - are there any pre-existing holes that you are using or did you had to drill into the floor? thanks!
  15. How is Alpine unit working out for you? If you had to redo it all over for a stock car, what would you recommend? I am deciding between a- less than $500 - Dension 500S to hook up my iphone and rely on iphone for all music/navi etc (I rarely use Navi) b- close to 2500$ - for a full solution like you have installed and get options like rear view camera, video playback etc.
  16. Your install looks pretty nice. Few questions if you can provide some details: 1. I was looking at Kenwood DNN990 and as you have indicated, the lag is too much to deal with. Hence, I am looking at installing this alpine unit. The reviews are mostly great except for navigation interface and maps. What are your thoughts on it? How does navi compares to your previous kenwood unit? 2. Did you reuse the dash kit from your kenwood install or did you get a new one to fit alpine? If yes, do you have link to the new one? 3. Lastly, any comments on rear view camera install and any links of what you installed? Is it pretty straightforward to install? I am considering installing a wireless to avoid drilling into the bumper and/or running wires from the back to the front. Thanks for your help....
  17. I finally had the local car audio repair shop solder in new transformer, brough home and plugged in and, to my bad luck, it has not worked. The display is still very faded and I can only read if I use a flashlight directly on the display. Anyone has any recommendations before I head to the dealer on Monday to get a new cluster insallted. It is about $3500 + installation.
  18. Update: I removed the tach needle as well and gotten to a point where I have pulled the motherboard out and going to a local TV repair shop to get the transformer soldered. Anyone has any recommendations to replace or change anything while I have the cluster removed? It is a painful process....
  19. Did anyone run into the issue with removing gauge needles? As per the post, I rotated them counter-clockwise and every needle except the RPM came off. I kept rotating the RPM needle but it does not come off. Also, I notice that there is a play in the needles when putting them back on? Is that normal? Thanks
  20. I was wondering if you can please share more details on the replacement part, where you got it from and any issues encountered when doing the replacement. I have the same issue and the local dealer wants 3k for the new panel and install. Thanks!
